I hereby declare Criterion Games to be the king of downloadable content. Thecompany has announcedanotherDLC pack forBurnout Paradise, and I can’t even begin to think of anyone who has supported their baby post-launch on a level similar to these hardworking people. While the Toy Cars Pack isn’t as rockin’ as the Legendary Pack withthe hovering car, it’s still cool nonetheless. As you might have guessed, we won’t be seeing the DLC until next year, alongside the thousands of other packs slated forBurnout Paradise....

Face it, being in the hospital sucks. My friends and family know that I’m terrified of hospitals, so I may never get to witness the really nice gift Microsoft has extended to hospitalized children. They’ve partnered with the Companions in Courage Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families who are overcoming life-threatening obstacle. Microsoft has supplied hundreds of Xbox 360 game kiosks to hospitals across the US, saving kids from having to stare at those gross anatomy charts on the wall....

Microsoft plans to allow users to create their own servers for the multiplayer component ofSection 8. According to official release, players will be able to set up their own digs using their Windows-based PCs and the X server software free when the game launches this September. SouthPeak Interactive plans to set up their own dedicated X servers as well, both of which will support up to 32 players. We’re a little confused by this one, but it appears the traditional Xbox LIVE peer-to-peer connectivity will allow for the same amount of players in a match....

Shadow Culture Secretary Ed Vaizey is one of the few politicians in Britain who actually understands and appreciates the good that videogames do, and has been a supporter of the industry for a long time. While registering for the London Games Conference, Vaizeyspoke highly of gamesand criticized his fellow politicians for focusing entirely too much on the violence issue. “I’m delighted to be speaking to the London Games Conference. The games sector is one of the most successful creative industries in the UK, but it has been forgotten by Government,” Vaizey claims....

We got word of a brand new Special Infected coming toLeft 4 Dead 2from reader Josh, which we promptly followed up with Valve to get official confirmation. Those attending PAX will be the first to witness the arrival of The Jockey, perhaps the most annoying-yet-awesome sounding Special Infected of them all. The Jockey is a smaller zombie who jumps on the backs of Survivors and tears them apart from behind. Not only that, but he gets to control the movements of the Survivor while he’s doing it, meaning that Versus Mode just got a whole lot crazier....

Usually, I would slap your wrist and tell you not to watch the above video, as I am not a big proponent of watching too much gameplay footage before a game is released (why ruin the surprise?), but … well … go on, you can watch this one. It’sbeen awhile since we’ve seenanything new from this odd little title coming out for the DS. We just received some new screens and the box art but still don’t know much about the game itself. The only thing I could find fromsome Matlockingis that: I’m having a hard time with accepting the whole concept of this game.
