Kaz Hirai. That name also brings back memories for me as well. Sony is doing some shuffling around of staff in a restructure, and through that our favorite E3 presenter is getting a promotion. Right now Kaz Hirai is the president of Sony Computer Entertainment. That already sounds like a supreme title, dosen’t it? But now that Sony is dividing things up into two separate businesses, ol’ Kaz is being promoted to vice president of the Consumer Products and Services group, which means that he will be in charge of Sony’s entire consumer electronics business, saysEDGE....

Sims, Sims, Sims! Electronic Arts loves to come out withSimsgames and they had plenty on hand at a recent press event. There were a total of seven differentversions ofThe Sims 3games in fact, each for a different platform. The Sims 3will be making its debut for current-gen consoles this Fall on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and DS. In the Summer, moreSimsgames will be out for Apple and the Android platform....

The companies that crank out a lot of mobile games like to have sales around all holidays. You’ll have no complaints from me on this. I’ll never complain about getting a new game for $0.99, on any platform! Namco wants to be all jolly and stuff by giving us great prices on their games from tomorrow, December 21, through January 3. Many of their titles will have really low prices on them....

Gamecock Media Group has blown up our mail boxes, alerting us that the official Web site for Replay Studios’ upcoming “stealthy game with a broad as the protagonist,”Velvet Assassin, has gone live. The site explores the world and history ofVelvet Assassin‘s heroine, Violette Summer, as she lay in a hospital bed dying. Spoiler alert? Not quite — the game itself is framed in flashbacks as Summer’s life supposedly slips away. The site also features screenshots, trailers, weapon descriptions, as well as details on the “Follow the Dream” gold hunt....
