That sure is something to be proud of, right? A clear reminder that you spent way too much time working on this game....

WhenTropico 4was announced, no specific release date was given, but a promise of 2011 was made, and is now being fulfilled. Those looking to fill the role of El Presidente on the PC can start their dictatorship on August 26, while Xbox 360 rulers will have to wait until mid-September. Ubisoft, never tired offinding ways to screw with its customers, is undoubtedly punching the air and rubbing its hands together at the news of EA Sport’sOnline Passinitiative, a new scheme that charged secondhand buyers $10 to play its games online, while brand new copies offer it for free. Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft likes this, and may follow with its own plans. “Most of the games we are releasing next year will have from the start downloadable content available,” explains Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez, “and we are looking very carefully at what is happening with EA regarding what we are calling the $10 solution, and will probably be following that line sometime in the future....

Broadcast live for free, the 16 bestDotateams in the world will play in a “group stage, double elimination playoff format.” This will be our first time seeing the game in action. The winning team will take home an absurd $1 million, which would sound like a joke if it weren’t Valve we were talking about here....

Well, I blew my load right up there in the headline, so there’s not much to say here. I guess I can tell you that I played Sega and Platinum’sVanquishat E3 and was quite impressed. This shooter is crazy, fast, and stylistic — no silly musclebound meatheads here. The gameplay is insane, but also makes you feel like a bit of a badass as you make your way through the insanity....

Okay, we get it, the Wii is having a price cut. Quite why Nintendo feels the need to deny it when we know it’s happening is beyond me. Despite being built to tackle piracy, Nintendo’s latest handheld has been “hacked” for use with R4 cards, at least according to Japanese gamers who postedtheiranticson Youtube. Bear in mind that, since this uses an R4, only the DS side of things have been infiltrated. You won’t be able to steal — sorry, “back up” — your 3DS games just yet, but it seems you’ll be able to do it with your old DS library....
