Industry analyst Michael Pachter has really gotten a hard-on for subscription fees lately. Not long afterencouraging Activisionto adopt a subscription-basedCall of Duty, the steel-jawed fox has declared that all multiplayer games will go the way of the monthly fee. “I think EA will migrate to an online subscription model, so instead of paying $10 for an online pass,” muses Pachter onPach Attack, “I think EA will charge $5 or $10 a month which will give the player the ability to play any of the companies sports games online....

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting Her Majesty’s finest! British police recovered £600,000 of stolen PlayStation 3 games from a lorry in Leeds,only to losethe entire haul again overnight. Seven pallets of PS3 games were stolen, including 16,000 copies ofBrothers in Arms. The lorry and the swag was held in a police depot, where criminals broke in, stole the goods, and made clean their getaway. Eidos comes to E3 as a Square Enix-owned company for the first time with a few titles to show off. Batman: Arkham Asylumwill be playable on the PS3 here at E3 and will include maps that allow players to play as The Joker. These maps will become freely-available downloads on the PlayStation Network. The game will be available in North America on August 25th and in Europe on August 28th....

My grades in school for science were very low. In chemistry class I clearly recall the professor making fun of me in front of the class for my inability to grasp what he was trying to teach us. Dick. Whenever I think of choices in RPGs, my hope is that the choice will be between stabbing a monster in the eye or cutting its head completely off. Judging from the footage, it looks like that might actually be a real choice. But, the video that Codemasters released recently is not exactly about stabbing things. Capcom is supposedly gearing up the original PS2 games to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Dante’s exploits. If this is a real thing, then we’ll see it next week. If it’s not, we won’t.
