Wait, seriously? Yes, seriously. Microsoft’s Game Room will have 56 Achievements attached to it when it finally launches next week. Hoping to entice players into its virtual arcade like Gary Glitter with a dirty van full of candy, Microsoft is offering 1,000 Gamerpoints, some of which can be earned simply by being there. Game Room is out on March 24 and is definitely one for the Achievement whores to look out for....

There’s a problem with branching paths and moral decisions in videogames: even if they are meaningful (few are), players can usually bypass the system by using multiple save files or other means to go in for another attempt and a different outcome. While the same is still true for the online flash titleOne Chance, more work has been put in place to prevent you from “cheating.” It’s one of those games that doesn’t try to be fun, but that’s not to say the experience isn’t entertaining....

Set to be released this December, these 1/48 scale Idolmaster Ace Combat jets will sell for anywhere between 3,990 yen to 7,140 yen ($78). These jets were inspired by in-game downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version ofAce Combat 6....

A while back, some assholes lashed out at Activision and Kobe Bryant for the famousCall of Duty: Black Opstelevision commercial. ESPN proved that it should stick to sports by chatting absolute crap about the situation, but Activision has bit back, calling the networks hypocrites for airing the ads that they later whined about. “I’m going to put it in air quotes, which you can’t see, but the ‘controversy’ surrounding Kobe Bryant I find very hypocritical,” says publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg....
