The wait is over. Electronic Arts’ and Electronic Arts DICE’s downloadable titleBattlefield 1943is hitting Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network on July 8 and 9 respectively. In celebration of the impending release, EA passed around some cover art for the title and a fun little teaser featuring Guadalcanal and plenty of explosions. There’s a war going on over at Ubisoft’s Paris HQ between the game maker in a nearby bank, but it has nothing to do with money. In fact, Mario, Pac Man and Kirby are on the front lines of this war. That headline was the greatest pun in the universe. So this isDamnation, a slick looking ‘vertical shooter’ from Codemasters which is due to hit the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year. The game promises big, open environments and climbing. Lots of climbing. There are so many action games looming on the horizon that it’s almost impossible to keep track of them all. For an action fan like me, it’s looking really good, but one must always prepare for disappointment....
