Okay, so maybeJim didn’t care forWayFoward’s reboot of theBloodRaynefranchise with last week’s release ofBloodRayne: Betrayal, but I’m here to tell you that it wasn’t all bad. The game’s soundtrack, composed byJake Kaufman(the composer ofShantaeandContra 4as well as a famous chiptune artist and game music arranger), is actually pretty awesome, taking inspiration fromCastlevania: Symphony of the Nightwith its guitar shredding and epic orchestral accents. Oh, and don’t forget about the unlockable “chiptune” mode which replaces the entire soundtrack with retromazing 8-bit variations....

WhenNaruto: Rise of a Ninjawas released last year for the Xbox 360 I was initially pretty skeptical. After seeing the way the Naruto franchise was being whored out with sequel after sequel — very quickly becoming the new DBZ in that regard — I just assumed it would end up being a half-assed, sub-par game: as licensed titles have a tendency to be. But damn if the footage in its trailers didn’t look nice....
I was directed this morning to a thread over atNeoGAF, where much speculation was warming up over a few job listings on theClimax website. In the job listings, the intro reads as follows: “…and an unannounced title for Codemasters as well as our stunning and refreshing take on the horror genre and our original ground breaking next-gen game for the PS3 and the Xbox 360.” The site’s front page reads “new Wii and PSP game” and well as “new 360 and PS3 project”, both being Konami titles....
