TGS 09: Here’s some fresh and sexy Bayonetta screens

It’s no secret that we loveBayonettahere at Destructoid. It has a ton of over-the-top action, a sexy main heroine and the main hero has shoes that are guns. That’s a combination of extreme awesome in our books. We’re not sure if the preview build Sega has at TGS is new or the same thing from PAX, but we do have some new screenshots for you to check out at least. My favorite of the screens is the one above as the header for obvious reasons....

The Behemoth reveals artwork for latest game, hat robot cries

Above is thefirst glimpseofThe Behemoth‘s latest project, an as-yet unannounced game that should be revealed in full very soon. In fact, the studio is suggesting that before the date of March 18, the very first trailer will make itself known. Until then, all we have is this above image, which says very little, but is still undeniably cute. A robot in a hat looks longingly at a gem while tears fall from his eyes....

The Castlevania movie is falling apart; wait, let me go put on my surprise face

I don’t know what it is about video game movies and bad directors. They kind of go together like bad jokes andFull House – Season 3. One of the biggest offenders of bad directing, Paul W.S. Anderson (not to be confused with actual good directorPaul Thomas Anderson), has completely dropped off theCastlevaniamovie, according toDread Central. Anderson was pegged to write and direct the film, which made a lot ofCastlevaniafans (myself included) cry like a little girl....

The Daily Hotness: Game over, YEEEEEAHHHHH! (09/12/08)

The latest Sound Card was unleashed by Dale North today and showcased the top ten most obnoxious game songs. Some of the song choices are ones you’re able to just love to hate like theSega Rally“Game Over” song. I can listen to this “song” until the end of time and still laugh at it every time. The feature did make me a little sad though, as I rememberDaytona USA’s“Let’s go Away” to be an amazing song....

The Final Preview: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Western fantasy role-playing games have moved in different directions over the years. You have the European type of games likeTwo Worlds II, theGothicseries, and the originalThe Witcher. Games that tend to expect a lot of patience from the player while giving you a huge amount of things to do in an open, yet usually (or initially) buggy world. Then you have games likeDragon Age IIthat streamline the more hardcore elements to provide a more polished experience, but at the same time restrict your freedom in terms of customizability and things like crafting....

This is getting conSKUsing: Best Buy lists Core System with HDMI

Can somebody, somewhere please admit that releasing multiple console SKUs is a set up for disaster? Haven’t we learned by now that confusing customers and/or insulting their intelligence by offering sloppy, under-equipped packages is a bad idea? I guess not: adding to the multiple SKU confusion (which shall hereby be known as “conSKUsion”) is Best Buy, who has nowadded a new listingfor an “Xbox 360 Core System w/ HDMI.” Between the nine or 23 other rumored SKUs, purchasing an Xbox 360 this holiday should be like a scavenger hunt....

Tiny prince is tiny: New Prince of Persia: The Fallen King (DS) screens

I’m not going to pretend like the look of Ubisoft’s DS title,Prince of Persia: The Fallen King, is growing on me. Because it’s not; I’m not entirely OK with the cute, cartoony look of the game. With that said, word on the street from those who have seen the game in action is that the title is actually pretty solid. I’m willing to give Ubisoft the benefit of the doubt; at least they didn’t try to cram a fully-3D port of their next-gen title on to Nintendo’s handheld....

What’stokusatsu, you ask? Well, it’s a Japanese word that roughly translates to “special effects”, referring to live action films with superheroes.Kamen Rider fans already know this all too well, but for those of you that don’t, there’s a bit of trivia! D3 has a game coming out for Wii and DS based on the currently airing Saturday morning showKamen Rider: Dragon Knight, and at a glance I’d say it classifies as a kids game....

Top Spin 3 contest extension: I said ‘balls deep,’ not ‘just the tip’

Since my first two notices about this particular contest (seehereandhere) seem to have done very little in the way of motivating Dtoiders to give it the old college try, I’m going to make some changes to the game in order to facilitate you (yes, you) entering. As of tonight, I am getting rid of two of the more rigorous requirements: the photo you submitno longer has to be taken at a tennis court, and you canuse whatever the bloody hell you want(besides a tennis racket) to try and whack your tennis ball....
