FortressCraftis an episodic series by Projector Games coming soon to Xbox 360 via the Indie channel. And yes,it does lookquite similar toMinecraft. (Be sure to turn down the volume on the video, by the way.) This first chapter, which focuses on creation and multiplayer, will be a $1 release. Apparently, you can get up to 31 players together at once. I’m trying not to judge the game too much on screenshots and a video or two, because even though it looks decidedly similar toMinecraft, that’s not where the genre started....

Hot off the heels ofyesterday’sBayonettatrailer, we have a brand new one for you, this time detailing the infamous “torture attacks” in which our titular heroine humiliates and eviscerates her enemies in all sorts of wonderfully over-the-top ways. It’s a very simple mechanic. Bayonetta earns magic power the more she attacks, and loses it the more she gets hit. When the magic power is full, she can perform a torture attack on an enemy, finishing it off in a fittingly ludicrous and sadistic manner....

It’s wild stuff like this that has me craving Rock Band Network so desperately. The theme song to Twisted Pixel’s‘Splosion Manhas been authored for RBN, which means we may potentially see it as a playable song inRock Banddown the road. Uh … yes please! Upon first hearing the news, I kept seeing‘Splosion ManasSpider-Man. “Spider-Mantheme song now on Rock Band Network.” As rad as such a statement is, I was not disappointed to find out about my inability to read upon first waking up in the morning....

Sony fans are about to get one step closer to a heart attack with word that 7-Eleven is offering up exclusive downloadable content forLittleBigPlanet 2,Killzone 3andPlayStation Homein exchange for Slurpee purchases. Each specially branded Slurpee cup will bear a code to download either aLittleBigPlanet 2sticker pack, aKillzone 3map pack or a Slurpee machine item for use in Home. The promotion runs until the end of March, and there’s really not much more to say about it....

As our friends atGoNintendoare pointing out, Activision and Red Octane are throwing an E3 bash on Monday night to celebrate the release of their upcoming “Hero” games. Yes, all of them —Guitar Hero 5,DJ Hero, andBand Hero. Sent out today (we received one, too) promises “surprise musical guests.” Earlier today (before the invite hit our inboxes), a little birdie told me of this party, revealing that the “surprise musical guests” would be Kings of Leon....

In some nice “where the f**k did that come from?” news, it appears that Agetec will be localizing and publishingFire Pro Wrestling Returnsfor the PlayStation 2 in both North American and European territories. Hopping on a “hardcore”Fire Proforum, localization producer Mark Johnsonannounced the news, along with a public call for help from long-time fans of the series to keep the game “as authentic as possible.” Fire Pro Wrestling Returnsis the last in a long-standing series of 2D Japanese-language wrestling titles, which date back to the PC Engine era....

Vinnie “VinRok” Tartamella is mighty impressive. He’s a self-taught artist who loves to dabble in mostly comic-related arts, but luckily for us, he also takes to the occasional videogame character. He is a freelance artist and has worked for companies such as McFarlane Toys, Diamond Select and Bowen Designs, to name a few. His work has been featured in various magazines and comic books as well. I really love Vinnie’s art, my favorite mostly being theTomb RaiderandBloodRaynepieces....

So, like many, I played the unbelievableBioShockdemo last night, and was floored. I’ve never been much of an FPS fan; I’ve always said it would take a lot to get me really into the genre. But few could argue with me thatBioShockdefinitely brings it to the table, with one of the most vividly realized and physically interactive worlds I’ve ever seen in a game. The environment is both haunting and breathtaking — and the architectural design eerily familiar....

The rumors are true — the game BioWare has been teasing these past few weeks is none other than Mass Effect 3. A trailer for the game was shown off at the Spike VGAs tonight, confirming some of the info accidentally leaked out by the EA Store just yesterday. Namely, it looks like BioWare is taking the series to Earth. “If Shepard doesn’t bring help soon, there won’t be an Earth left to save,” says the narrator....

Toys R Us has a ton of deals going on for toys during Black Friday, buttheir gaming selectionisn’t so great compared to some of the other Black Friday deals. They will have a Xbox 360 Arcade unit going for $229.95 which comes with a carrying case and three games....

Amid routine surveying, archaeologists have reportedly discovered what they believe to be a heretofore unknown tomb in the region of Egypt best known for its pyramids and ancient burial grounds. Why this has been announced before it’s confirmed that this is indeed an ancient tomb is unclear, but given today’s date there has understandably been much suspicion as to the validity of the claim. When approached for comment, the foreman of the digging crew had this to say:...

Okay, so, I think this Taiwanese guy was dressing up in Buddhist monk’s robes and raping boys. That’s what I’m gathering from this Chinese report that’s been circulating around tonight. Arrested in April, the man would invite boys back to his house with promises of a Nintendo Wii and would then assault them. So far as I’ve been able to glean from Chinese site Apple Daily, that’s the story. But that’s not the real story here....
