Late last week at E3, I had the opportunity to watch a short demonstration for Vogster Entertainment’s MMOCrimecraft. Unlike some of the other MMOs I saw at the colossal event (Star Wars: The Old Republic,All Points Bulletin),Crimecraftwas up and running with real players actively participating in the game. As you can assume from the name,Crimecraftis an MMO that puts you in the role of a thug in a particularly rough world — the planet’s climate, politics, and the economy have all went to s–t, resulting in aJudge Dredd“scorched Earth” world....

The first twoCall of Dutygames were widely praised as the next step in the first-person shooter genre. They had bombastic action sequences, gripping storylines and enough Nazi-bashing to make George Patton squeal like a young girl. Even today they stand out as the finest examples of the ultra-over-saturated World War II FPS subgenre, but like the Treaty of Versailles the series’ string of stunning successes couldn’t last forever.Call of Duty 3, while a competent game, certainly didn’t live up to the brand, and while above-average, was seen as the low point of the series....
You might remember the game from when we salivated over it backat TGS. The game looked like an utter mindf*ck, and everyone thought it would be a great addition to the PS3’s online library, filling it out just a little more. Nintendo really seems to be pulling out all the stops this E3, with a slew of first-party titles being announced. Now we can addMetroidto the growing list of games with a Wii game entitled,Metroid: Other M. Some of us had heard rumors about a new adventure for Samus being announced at the show but the one thing I think nobody expected to hear was that the cherished franchise was being placed in the hands of Team Ninja....
Today, Microsoft’s Kudo Tsunoda unveiled Kinect Fun Labs — a collection of tools for Kinect developers and the community — while also pulling a Sega: it’s available today for all Xbox Live members. A few games were shown off.Kinect Metook pictures of the player, automatically creating an Avatar. The end result seemed more “realistic” and slightly creepier than the current, cartoony Avatars.Finger Trackingsnapped photos of the player, allowing them to “draw” in front of and behind the pictures....
