THQ has been one of several publishers to embrace the “online pass” scheme that combats used sales by demanding secondhand buyers pay $10 to unlock a title’s online content. Despite its fight against pre-owned, however, the publisher claims itdoesn’twant to kill the market, because it’s important to consumers. “The most important thing is we have to participate in the value chain in used games,” said CEO Brian Farrell. “We understand, given our focus on the gamer, that consumers like to be able to monetize their game library....

Namco Games announced this morning thatGarters & Ghoulshad hit Apple’s App Store, so I immediately ran to my iPod Touch to download it. I mean, it promised to feature two of my favorite things,those things being both garters and ghouls. The game starts with a debutante, Marie, being brought back from the dead by Megaman’s Dr. Wily to slaughter some zombies. It is always a good idea to pass the controller around in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. According to an MSNBCreport, a Milwaukee man recently stabbed his brother over a PS2 controller. The Waukesha Police department cites that the stabber was upset over not being allowed to play. It was probably like any other fine evening at the brothers’ home – except with more stabbing, slicing and choking. The fight over the controller began innocently enough (choking), but quickly escalated when the brother protecting the controller (and being choked) took out a knife and started slashing at his greedy brother’s hands....

Ubisoft stands accused of torrenting its own music in order to compile an official soundtrack for the digital deluxe edition ofAssassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. According toReddit, the soundtrack’s MP3s were first encoded as FLAC files by someone who goes by the name of arsa13. This information points one to the logical conclusion that somebody at Ubisoft decided to torrent the soundtrack and convert the tunes to MP3s, rather than use the original source files....
