It’s time for the old “PSN charges” debate to rear its ugly head. Thelast time we left off, it became pretty clear that Sony was strongly considering a premium service on the PlayStation Network, something that would offer paying customers a little extra over the current free package. Now, Sony has outright stated that charges are being considered. “It’s been our philosophy not to charge for it from launch up until now, but Kaz recently went on the record as saying that’s something we’re looking at,” says Sony’s Peter Dille....

The girly slapfight between Microsoft and Sonycontinues, with Sony Computer Entertainment boss Kaz Hirai stepping into the fray to asset that, somehow, PlayStation is still the official industry leader. Quite how he works that out is through spin so silky you’d think he was a spider. “I’d like to think that we continue official leadership in this industry,” states the polygonal Sony man.“It’s difficult to talk about Nintendo because we don’t look at their console as being competitors....

You rememberthose glitchesthat were occurring for a few people when PS3 Firmware 3.0 was released? The ones that Sony tried to fix with Firmware 3.1? Well, according to Sony, it’s no longer a problem with Firmware and if you’re one of the unlucky ones who encountered issues, you may very well be up sh*t creek. Followingmounting complaintsfrom frustrated users,Eurogamerasked Sony to comment on customer complaints detailing their inability to play a number of Blu-rays on the PS3....

I respect an organization which can poke fun at itself, something SouthPeak Games has always been more than capable of. Supporting my claim is this new video forTwo Worlds IIwhich sees the return ofthat lovable malcontent Sordahonand his continuing quest to get what he deserves from his appearance in the game. Somehow, he actually manages to sink to a new low. I do have to question the wisdom of hiring someone to field calls regarding receipt of a product not yet past its street date but why let logic get in the way of a joke?...

Do people still get pumped when they see Trophy/Achievement lists ahead of time? That used to be the norm, though I suspect enthusiasm has died down considerably in recent years. If you don’t mind quest-name spoilers,the Achievements forThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimmight be worth looking over. These largely seem to be the same objectives that Bethesda has always had us complete. Leveling, exploring, stealing — that sort of thing. I do love it when open-ended games try to get you to tinker with mechanics you might otherwise avoid, like “Hard Worker: Chop wood, mine ore, and cook food....

I lovedThe Dark Knightjust like the majority, and while I hate to have to say I followed the herd on anything, it’s just a damn good film. Not being a lifelong Batman fan, however, I don’t personally want to customize my 360 to reflect the theme you see above, but I can easily see why someone else might want to, as it’s a killer presentation. Speaking of killer, the price may do just that to you — it’ll cost you $1200 to score this beauty for your own living room....
