This week, Microsoft’s director of marketing and communications for the Xbox team Molly O’Donnell gave the audience atThe Wall Street Journal‘s D8 conference a live demonstration of Project Natal. Of course, it was caught on video. Molly walks theTheWall Street Journal‘s Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher through a demonstration of the game’s one-to-one body tracking technology, using an Xbox 360 Avatar as an example. At one point, Mossberg walks into the field of view, and a second Avatar appears on the screen; O’Donnell nicely tells him to get the hell out of the way....

THQ announced that they will be bringing theWormsfranchise to the Nintendo Wii with a new title calledWorms: A Space Oddity. Gamasutrasays that this new title will include four-person online play, new enviromental settings, “re-invented single-player missions,” party games, and motion gesture control to the Spring 2008 release. It also seems that THQ is aiming for a new graphical style, dropping the cartoon-ish look of earlier titles for a “distinctive style inspired by classic Sci-Fi looks....

About once a month, Funcom assures fans thatAge of Conanis still coming out for the Xbox 360. It’s about that time again. In an Eurogamerlive interview, the game’s director Craig Morrison answered a reader’s question about the game’s progress … and said it’s still coming. “There is a small dedicated team working on the Xbox platform at the moment. We still plan on having a 360 version of the game at some stage but I’m afraid I can’t go into any specifics beyond that at the moment,” he said....

After what happened with the lastYakuzagame to come to the States, I wasn’t honestly expecting this trailer to be so great. Even better, hostess clubs will be in the American version! Even the person that wrote the PR e-mail was happy about this fact. Overall, this trailer is pretty unconventional. It’s all over the place, yet oddly effective. I’ve never got into to the series, but now I really want to....

Alexey Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris, has been trying to perfect multiplayer for his popular puzzle game. “We are working on multiplayer versions for more than 10 years — I’ve been trying to design it. I should admit that we are not quite there yet,” says Pajitnov tellsGamasutrain an interview. What’s holding it back from being finished relates to how people play Tetris in single player mode. You usually want to play at a high level to challenge yourself....

We were hoping that this is how things would go for upcoming portable Vita, but now we have confirmation from Sony’s gamescom press conference. Buried in the retread of PS Vita features was this new bit that basically says thatallPS Vita games will be available as downloads on the PS Store. In other words, you don’t have to mess with boxed games anymore. They said nothing about timing of digital releases, but let’s hope it will match boxed releases, day and date....

Ubisoft has revealed controversial new plans for anti-piracy measures on all its PC games. Taking a leaf from the Steam and EA playbook, the European publisher has announced that all of its games will require online activation via an Ubi.com account. The only trouble is, Ubi’s gone a step further. On one hand, the new DRM plans will let you install your Ubisoft games on as many computers as you like....
