Topware Interactive is releasingTwo Worlds II: Velvet Game of the Year Editionon October 18 and yes, there is velvet. The velvet covers the entire box — black for PC and Mac, red for Xbox 360 and PS3 — along with metal corners to give the thing an “antique brass” aesthetic. The edition includes all current updates, and will also boast thePirates of the Flying Fortressexpansion. As if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also get a multi-lingual version of the game, a double-sided world map, pirate pin item that boosts armor, and a bonus disc with art, wallpaper, soundtracks and two PVP maps....

When Activision dropped the first trailer forX-Men Origins: Wolverine,I said it made me want to see the movie. This newest trailer, thank goodness, makes me want to actually play the game. I had a chance togo hands on with itwith when Activision came out to New York City for Comic Con, and I was reasonably impressed with that I saw. Not only did the game look pretty nice (Unreal Engine 3 and all), it played like a solid third-person action titled....

Why does it seem like the majority of stories about videogame films have something to do with one person or another no longer being attached to projects? But Harmonix and MTV Games have officially announced it today, and after shouting “OLD!” in their general direction, I’m going to write about it. Why? Well, now it has a price. $1.99/160 MS Points/200 Wii Points per track, or $22-06-2025 MS Points for the entire album 11-track album. The album hits stores on September 20, and hits Xbox LIVE Marketplace on the same day; Wii gets the tracks on September 22, and PlayStation Network on September 24....

Pre-orders for the title are 60 percent higher than they were forOrange Box, and Valve says thatL4Dis EA’s number one Xbox 360 game for the holiday. With such positive reactions to Valve’s new IP, the company has decided to invest $10 million on a massive ad campaign that will include commercials which are said to mix humor with horror, environmental ads similar to what Take-Two did withGrand Theft Auto IV, ads in magazines like Playboy, and marketing on Web sites....

Last month webrought you wordthat EA hadWarhammer Online: Age of Reckoninglisted for a September 23 release date. We’ve just gotten the official announcement from Mythic Entertainment, and it looks like the actual date will be five days earlier than expected: on September 18. Along with the release date Mythic also let us know how muchWarhammer’s subscription costs would run, which are pretty standard as far as MMO pricing goes. Also, if you go ahead and preorder the game (fromthese select retailers) you’ll get a few extra bonuses....

I’ve never played the originalJust Cause, but I sure hope that Rico Rodriguez, the protagonist of that game and its upcoming sequel,Just Cause 2, is a tongue-in-cheek character in the vein ofNathan Drake. Because I don’t think I’d be able to deal if lines like “I thought I was done … but I was wrong” are meant to be taken seriously, and I’m not immediately getting that vibe from the “No Ordinary Mission” trailer above....

Earlier this week, Sega’s Mike Hayes showed a rare but welcomerespect for the past, admitting that his company had not treated some of its classic franchises as well as it should have. The more recentSonicgames and the dismal disappointment that wasGolden Axestand as hefty testament to this sad truth. However, if Sega really is serious about giving its IP a serious revitalization, one can’t argue that there are still plenty of untapped classics that it could stand to bring back....

The White Knight Chronicles story continues on the PSP withWhite Knight Chronicles Episode.Portable: Dogma Wars. The story takes place 10,000 before the previous two games. You’ll play as your created avatar, just like in the last release, but now you’ll fightagainstthe huge knights that helped you in the earlier games. The game will be released in Japan in February. This game will use infrastructure mode to let you play online, with up to four players in quests....
