Get all bloody with Punisher No Mercy demo tomorrow

In what could be a ballsy move, ZEN Studios has announced that it will be releasing a playable demo forPunisher: No Mercyon PlayStation Network tomorrow. Ballsy because a few people had made up their minds that at $9.99, the gory multiplayer shooter seemed like a sure bet. While we’d like to hope the game holds up, I suppose we’ll find out tomorrow – the demo will feature two of the game’s eight levels from the full game, which also hits PSN tomorrow....

Guilty Gear dev prefers Xbox 360 development

Even though Japan isn’t exactly home to a lot of the 360’s success, it seems that some Japanese developers still prefer to work with Microsoft’s console in mind. One such studio is Arc System Works, currently hammering away onGuilty Gear 2: Overture. Guilty Gearcreator Daisuke Ishiwatariexplained the reasonwhy 360 development is still popular: It was easier for a small-and-mid-sized developer like us to develop a game for Xbox 360 than PS3....

Having issues with Crackdown online? (update)

[Update 2: OK, everything seems to be in order. It must have been an isolated issue this morning, but as of right now, the game works fine online — though to be honest it is laggy and sluggish at points. Move along, nothing to see here.] The biggest appeal toCrackdownwas not only the promise ofHalo 3, but also the kick-ass co-op that was included. For a few weeks, some of us have had the game and have been playing online — enjoying the hell out of it too....

Courtesy of EGMi, we haveour first lookat the character you’ll be playing as inBioShock Infinite, Booker DeWitt. He certainly looks like the protagonist type, doesn’t he? Seems fitting, given what we’ve seenthrough his eyesso far. BioShock Infinite Hero Revealed In Image Inspired By An X-Men Cover[G4]...

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playing: Episode One

Ikaruga My sister, as you might have gathered from my random comments about her on RetroForceGO!, is the bane of my existence. She is a kind, generous, completely decent human being, and for thatshe must be destroyed. She also plays videogames from time to time, and so I thought I’d document our experiences playing them together. This first episode, centered aroundIkaruga, marks the premiere installment of a not-that-many-part series known as “Hey Ash, Whatcha Playing,” or “HAWP” for short....

Hideo Kojima and Square Enix are up to shenanigans

We heard a couple months back that Kojima and Square Enix were working onsome thingstogether relating toMetal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Specifically, the RPG mammoth is producing toys based on the characters and mechs in the game while Kojima is reciprocating by tossing in items fromFront MissionintoPeace Walker. Fair trade, I’d say. The pairing may not be quite finished yet. Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto tweeted today, saying, “A new promotion with Hideo Kojima is set....

Hudson games killed: Three 3DS titles including Bomberman

We don’t know why they were canceled, but we do know thatOmega Five, BonkandBombermanfor the 3DS are dead as of now. FreakingBomberman, man. I would have loved a newBombermanfor the 3DS. If you heard The Agency was canceled, you heard wrong

First thing this morning, we received word that GameFly was claiming the PlayStation 3 version of Sony Online Entertainment’s upcoming cross-platform MMOThe Agencywas canceled. It was a pretty straightforward email, with the listing for the game being shown as “The Agency (cancelled) [sic] for PlayStation 3.” So we asked SOE — what’s up? “The Agencyis still in development for release on both the PlayStation 3 and PC platforms,” they told us....

Indie Nation #52: Jumpman

It takes some serious balls to call your gameJumpman.Such a title mentally conjures a significant amount of videogame history, beginning withDonkey Kongand ending with this pretentiously-titled little indie title. It compares itself to every platformer ever made, and claims to somehow exhibit a purer form of platforming than most games do today. It’s comforting, then, thatJumpmanis really quite good. Combining simple graphics and initially accessible gameplay with trippy, imaginative scenarios,Jumpmantakes the simple joy of difficult (but not punishing) platforming and mixes it with some really damned clever levels....
