Nintendo: Wii has a shelf life of one hour

It was hard to obtain Nintendo’s Wii in 2006, but even now it is hard to come across a Nintendo Wii in a retail store. There’s still a crazy demand and a shortage of hardware. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime told Wired.com in an interview that “We are passionately upset about the lack of product relative to demand.” He doesn’t seem to be too upset about the bragging rights. According to the Regginator, the average Wii system on a store shelf in the United States only sits there for an hour before being purchased....

Oh by the way, Sadness was canceled

We all knew it was vaporware, but at least one person has finally had the stones to come out and confirm the obvious —Sadnessis not happening. The confirmation of cancellation comes from composer Arkadiusz Reikowski, who actually revealed it onhis Polish blogin April but has only just caught the attention of the English speaking world....

On today’s episode of ‘Nerds Make the Darndest Things’ …

Sometimes I like to imagine what mixing two totally awesome things together would be like,Jade Cocoon-style. Perhaps a pterodactyl with a Moonkin fromWorld of Warcraft.. I also like to dip my McDonald’s french fries in my vanilla ice cream cone (unfortunately, that’snota clever metaphor for sexual activity, I’m just weird). But none of that compares to what “J. Grayson”came up with last nightin his mom’s basement. Mixing Nintendo’s “CD-ROMs are too futuristic for us” console of yesteryear with thegoodoldStar Warsof yesterdecade, thismodded N64is sure to make the panties drop....

Pew! Pew! Preview!: Guitar Hero: World Tour (Part 2)

Guitar Herohas never been so much about personal expression as it’s been about pressing some buttons and having a pre-determined avatar rock along with some pre-recorded tracks. [Editor’s note: Community memberDaxelmanwrote an excellentMonthly Musingon how he applies his imagination to his games when playing alone, which is an eerily similar theme to this one I had been planning to do! Fragile Dreamshas almost escaped the cold, unfeeling tentacles of Japan where it has been held captive for so long.
