A few weeks ago there was a big drama over id Software’s upcoming FPSRagebeing split up ontwo disks for the Xbox 360. One would suppose that the game is fairly large, but only in a 12-inch turkey sub sense (as opposed to the meatball one, which is wicked hefty).Shacknews(via1UP) is reporting that despiteRage’s girth, it may still be digitally distributed. The next batch of downloadable content forRed Dead Redemption, “Liars and Cheats,” is out September 21. Here’s a bit of a surprise — the pack will also contain all of the content that was previously announced as the free-of-charge “Free Roam” pack. Rockstar says this is “due to the platform networks’ restrictions on numbers of free packs we can give away.” This means you’ll be getting even more content at once if you pick up “Liars and Cheats” next month, including online multiplayer poker and dice games, multiplayer horse races, seven new gang hideouts, and four new hunting grounds....

Seriously, I playResident Evil 5every night. I know I’ve made it clear in the past that I‘m not much of a fan of co-op gaming, but the magic formula for me seems to be the ability to play through a story with someone else rather than head-to-head challenges. At any rate, I’m having a blast, and I wish it would never end. My wish may appear to be coming true with Capcom’s announcement thatVersus modewill be available to download as of tomorrow!...

According to a poster atAscendant Justice Forums, a new set ofHalo 3Achievements are on the way. Allegedly, there are a total of 30 Achievements being offered for 750 points. The information and photographic “proof” are said to originate from an especially sneaky photographer this year at PAX. If you look closely at the Achievements listed, you’ll see various mentions of a “Legendary” or “Heroic” map, which coincide with previous map packs released by Bungie....

All went a bit quiet on theGolden Axefront, but we now have a selection of new screens from its current-gen revitalization,Golden Axe: Beast Rider. The concept is simple — take the monster spurring fun of the classicGolden Axegames, and expand it. A lot. The graphics are decent (though not the best to come out of Sega) and the art direction is pretty cool, especially on the creatures. I do long for more old schoolGolden Axecombat though, as I think the beat ’em up genre is a disappointingly long-dead glory....
