Today was the day tickets for Activision’s Call of Duty XP fan event were supposed to go on sale. Yep, they’re indeedon sale nowfor $150 per ticket. Not exactly an impulse decision, but one-hundred percent of these proceeds are going to the non-profit Call of Duty Endowment. The event itself is set for early September, and should be a memorable experience for those big enough into the series to want to attend....
The Times Online, following the great news media tradition of linking violent acts to videogames, has noted that German school shooter Tim Kretschmer was a gamer, making sure to note “sinister” parallels with Ubisoft’s mercenary-themed FPS,Far Cry 2. The article claims, falsely, that Kretschmer dressed in a black camo uniform to better emulate the FPS, a game which, as far as I’ve played so far, contains not asingleitem of clothing that falls within that description....

Edge Games, headed by nefarious snake-in-the-grass Tim Langdell, has become famous in the games industry as one of the greatest trademark trolls of our time, ready to slap anybody with a lawsuit over use of the word “edge.” Edge Games has been embroiled in a legal battle with Electronic Arts for quite some time, and the Langdell has questioned why the press seems to be on EA’s side. After responding to deleted Twitter comments from DICE’s Johan Andersson, in which he declared that they were winning the feud with Edge Games, Tim Langdell asserted that he was “completely certain” of victory over EA....
This week Ubisoft has partnered with UK clothing designerInsert Cointo announce its official apparel forAssassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.Due to launch in late August/early September, the designs will initially only be available in the UK and feature a hoodie and t-shirt. The zip-through ‘Monteriggioni’ hoodie will be grey with vivd red inside, the writing will hopefully be stitched as opposed to printed, and the bespoke cut on the hoodie will feature Ezios ‘eagle-vision’ peak....

Today, Ubisoft has confirmed the release ofTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Arcade Attack, a decidedly old school scrolling beat ’em up. It’s billed as a “tribute” to the classic Coin-Op arcade games, so hopefully that means it’ll be really good, unlike that horribleTurtles in Timeremake. Released as part ofThe Turtles‘ 25th anniversary shell-ebration (yes, they actually used that pun), Arcade Attack will be available this Holiday season....
