The bad PR for Nintendo’s 3DS just keeps rolling in, with one analyst now claiming that the handheld has suffered a remarkable slowdown in sales since it launched at the end of last month. “Based on our recent checks, we believe that sales of the 3DS have slowed considerably since the initial launch window, although the Easter holiday could provide a near-term boost,” stated Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian....

ANIMA Ark of Sinnersis a WiiWare game, and in a strange twist of fate, it looks quite good! The sidescroller takes more than a few pages fromCastlevania‘s book, and that’s no bad thing. 12 interconnected stages promise around eight hours of gameplay as players control Celia, a young woman stranded in an empty city full of bizarre creatures. It looks pretty promising, and it’ll be out tomorrow for 1,000 Points....

I wish I had a dad like Joseph Phillips. The 28-year-old visited his 9-year-old son at his ex-wife’s house, and when her back was turned, he stole the boy’s games and consoles, then legged it down the road to sell them for a tenth of the price. Classy! Phillips was later arrested at the mother’s house on misdemeanor theft charges. The ex valued the stolen items at $1,070. This champion among men didn’t just cut his losses there, however....

I think thatFATEmay go on to be my favorite game in the series. I was continually impressed with just how much personality and emotion that the developers packed managed into the shmup genre, without sacrificing any of the action....
I swear Blizzard touched upon this topic (as in, the consequences) back when itsReal ID systemwas first mentioned, but apparently everyone forgot or I made the whole thing up. Essentially, its main purpose is to let players use real names when communicating with friends. Word has gotten out —straight from Blizzard, actually — that, at least for the company’s forums moving forward, the use of Real IDs is not optional....

Thegolden cartridgeis a Nintendo icon, and is also the basis ofSquid Kids Ink‘s newest 10-Doh! figure, which features art by Andrew Wilson. Only 100 figures were made, and were originally only available at Gallery1988’s most recent show. Starting Saturday, however, any unsold pieces will be up for grabs for $50 each. Included with each figure is a 5″ x 7″ mini-print from Wilson. These figures are sweet, and considering that there are only 100 in existence, the price isn’t too bad either....

People creating a petition so that they can eventually pay more money for a game? You better believe it. We’re only a week out from Tokyo Game Show, and Capcom’s already gearing up for someStreet Fighter x Tekkenreveals. The publisher has released two trailers today, featuring torn pieces of paper and… stuff. Eagle-eyed fighting fans can probably pick out all kinds of details from these two short clips; I already see a few myself. But what fun is it if I give it all away?
