Based on this trailer, I’m surprisingly interested in the upcomingSpectrobes: Originsfor Wii. When the first game released on DS, I had heard good things but wrote it off as another “catch ’em all” game that I simply wouldn’t have the time to invest in. Watching this one, with its two player co-op mechanics, makes me think it might be the perfect game to curl up on the couch with my woman for an hour or two every night....

Valve has announced a new addition to Steam, dubbed “big picture” mode. We’re not entirely sure what all this is going to entail, but it sounds intriguing, and more details are to come out during GDC this week. It’s described as offering “controller support and navigation designed for television interaction,” and “will enable gamers to enjoy Steam and their library of Steam games on more screens throughout the house.” To me, that sounds like they’re streamlining — and perhaps prettying up — the process of playing games on PC or Mac via that gigantic screen of yours....

To me,Kane & Lynchseems like an ideal candidate for the whole game-to-movie conversion process. You strip out the technical and mechanical issues, and hopefully,hopefully, you have an interesting story. Jamie Foxx and Bruce Willis are still on board, after all. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of the film’s director. THE big Xbox LIVE System Update is dropping on November 17th according to Web siteFast Company, who reportedly received launch confirmation from LIVE general manager Marc Whitten. This is the update that adds Twitter, Facebook, and Last.FM support to the service — its not one of those prep patches that keeps you from playingDragon Age: OriginsorCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2for a precious fifteen minutes.
