Play Kinect at Macy’s because Macy’s is all about gaming

While interest in both Kinect and Movemay not be the greatest in the worldaccording to people who keep track of these things that doesn’t mean that Microsoft is shoving Kinect into everyone’s face as much as they possibly can in every possible way. Their next promotion aimed at grabbing the casual market five years after Nintendo isletting customers at Macy’s play Kinect. Starting on July 15 you will be able to head into 13 Macy’s stores across the country and try out Kinect for yourself....

Propaganda Games is no more. You might know the studio forTron: Evolution,Turok, or that awesome-soundingPirates of the Caribbeanaction-RPG,Armada of the Damned, which never saw the light of day. Prat uses PS3 to get kiddy porn, then distributes it like a moron

A man from Kentuckyhas been arrestedafter convincing an 11-year-old girl to send nude photos of herself via Sony’s black box o’ Blu-ray. In a world beforeKillzone 2, we could have made a clever joke about how PS3 fans have no games to play, so are resorting to sending each otherkiddy porn. Unfortunately, we cannot make that hilarious gag. Anthony Scott Oshea of Somerset, Kentucky has been charged with three felony counts, including promotion of child pornography and online solicitation of a minor, after not only downloading the images to his PS3, but then using the console to distribute the pictures to people in at least five different states....

PS3 demand at ‘an all time high’ during last week

NintendoandMicrosoftaren’t the only two platform publishers that can gloat about increased sales during the course of last week. According to a recent statement from Sony released to the press last night, PS3 demand “was at an all time high,” selling around 440,000 units. Neat. “The 2009 holiday season got off to an amazing start for PlayStation,” said Patrick Seybold, senior director of corporate communications and social media, “with all key retailers showing a significant increase for PS3, PSP, and key holiday titles over Black Friday and the holiday weekend....

PSP gets No Heroes Allowed! tomorrow via PlayStation Network

Don’t be fooled by the name —No Heroes Allowed!is, in fact, part of the Badman trilogy. I can only assume that the naming scheme for these games is supposed to be messed up (in a good way) and silly, sort of like the games themselves. This latest installment hits PlayStation Network tomorrow. Yes, tomorrow. Surprise! No Heroes Allowed!is the same great dungeon-building title as always, but this time there’s a new water mechanic, various types of pickaxes, and ad-hoc multiplayer....

PSP is a ‘huge opportunity’ according to Slitherine

Slitherine Software is not a studio I am overly familiar with, but it has an awesome name. It is also one of the few developers out there that still seems tobelieve in the PSP, claiming it is a “huge opportunity,” especially with bigger developers overlooking it. “To be honest, the PC version of the History Channel game was the least-performing one, because we already had our core audience from previous games, and if I look now at the success of the game itself, the PSP version gave us the best results,” claims marketing manager Marco Minoli, “That’s why we really keep pushing the PSP now, it’s perfect for us, for our strategy of history and strategy....

Review: C.O.R.E

First person shooter games really aren’t good on the DS. Even thegoodones aren’t very good. So really, a game likeC.O.R.Ehad no chance in Hell. The game bills itself as a “classic” FPS, which means it acts and looks exactly like a game from the early nineties. Anybody who grew up playingQuakewill know what NoWay Studio is going for, but again, this is on the DS. So it doesn’t work. At all....

Rockstar hits out at GamesIndustry.biz article on Manhunt 2

A month ago, GamesIndustry.biz ran an article onManhunt 2and the game’s banning at the hands of the BBFC. Whilethe article, written by contributor Rob Fahey, began by initially expressing distaste at the fact that such an action could occur, it continued on to be very critical of Rockstar, stating that in makingManhunt 2the company has ‘crossed the line – and crossed it at a full tilt run’. Later on Fahey says thatManhunt 2‘may, in fact, be the game which lives up to the shrill claims of the conservative wing that games are “murder simulators”‘, and said of its creator, ‘In making such a game Rockstar has been juvenile, shameful and irresponsible....

SDCC: Seriously, GoldenEye on the DS

Yes, this is a real thing.GoldenEyeon the Wii is something you’ve probably already heard about. We expected to see it here at an Activision preview event, but we didn’t expect to see a DS game. At least not yet. It was here, though, brought by developer n-Space. It was being shown off by a personal friend who works there, so I was the first to get a look at the game....

See Kinect working with PS3, Killzone 3

Why? That’s my question for coder Shantanu Goel. A personal challenge, perhaps? If so, bravo. For some reason he really wants to see Microsoft’s Kinect motion sensing device working on his PS3. He has made some progress, as you’ll see in the above video. In it you’ll see that he can log in to Sony’s console, navigate the XMB and even play a bit ofKillzone 3with Kinect. That’s pretty impressive....
