MadWorld is violent, new trailer proves it

MadWorldcaresses that part of my brain that craves savage things. Sega’s Wii-exclusive title (set to hit retail mid-March) is all about slicing, sticking, and plunging baddies. The pen-and-ink visuals contrast beautifully with the bright crimson spurts that cascades out of victims upon physical contact.MadWorldcould be that next blissful union between great visceral gameplay and gore that I’ve wanted since putting downGears of War 2.This trailer punctuatesMadWorld’sflair with a good bit of humor....

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom makes me happy in my face

Here’s the latest trailer for Namco Bandai’sMajin and the Forsaken Kingdom. The game has beenwritten off by someas a “blatant rip-off” of Team ICO’s work, but I think people who believe that are appalling, so let us pay them no mind. The game looks beautiful, and I think it’ll be a really underrated classic. It’s out on November 30, which I fear is a death-knell for the title, but who knows?...

Microsoft made out like a bandit on the Immersion rumble debacle

There’s a lot of legal babble here, but I’ll attempt to break it down: Back in 2003, Immersion sued both Microsoft and Sony for the use of rumble in their controllers, as they originally held the patent for the technology. From this lawsuit, Microsoft was ordered to pay Immersion $26 million. Ouch. However, being the sly bastards that they are, MS included a clause that required Immersion to pay them a portion of any money obtained from Sony as part of additional litigation....

New Burnout Paradise images prove that near misses can look pretty good

Electronic Arts has released a new batch of screenshots for the upcoming PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game,Burnout Paradise, and something is just … off. Not one of the screens show a single car exploding, a flaming tire flying through the air, or glass shattering in real-time. It’s as if I’m not looking at aBurnouttitle at all! The screens do tease us with a bunch of potentially steel crushing, horrifying wrecks, and that’s really enough to wet my whistle....

New Ridge Racer Unbounded has a Burnout vibe

Ridge Racer Unboundedis the latest in Namco’s popular racing series, and this new one isn’t like anyRidge Raceryou’ve ever played by the looks of this teaser trailer. Reiko, theRidge Racermascot you know and love, goes a little crazy and smashes through some cars demolition derby style. Is theRidge Racerseries trying out theBurnoutformula of racing in the new game? Seems like it. Nicest mod ever: One-handed Gamecube controller

Modder Hasse’s brother can only use his right hand, but he loves to play videogames. this inspired him to make what has to be the most heartwarming controller hack ever: a one-handed Gamecube controller. His solution was to re-work pieces of several eBay’d Gamecube controllers into one fully functional device. The trick here was to use an accelerometer and a digital-to-analog converter to reassign what you’d normally do on the d-pad to tilts of the controller....

No MAG for you until 2010: Get used to it, soldier!

To be honest, it was looking unlikely thatMassive Action Gamewould be heading to stores before 2010, and it would appear that the skeptics are right on this one. A number of outlets have recentlychanged the release dateof this PS3 exclusive, indicating that it won’t be out this year. I didn’t even know we weresupposedto expect it this year, but apparently some people were. If you were one of those people, now you know....

Our first (rather crappy) look at mutants in Metro 2033

I have said this before and I’ll say it again: I love how so many games are pushing the post-apocalyptic setting these days.Metro 2033takes it one step further by throwing in the element of a harsh Russian winter, rather than opting for the dull shades of brown found in most other games. To accompany some previews of the game from outlets other than us, quite a few new screenshots have made themselves available....
