Check out new screens and art for Hudson’s Help Wanted

I’ve been interested inHelp Wantedever sinceHamza’s previewof the title, which taught me that the game was actually about taking on weird jobs in order to earn money so you may buy items from the Home Shopping Network. The items you buy are to help destroy a meteorite that threatens the planet. I couldn’t make this up if I tried (and even if I did try and was on a large dosage of hallucinogenic drugs)....

Commence frowning, HD DVD owners: Warner Bros. to support Blu-ray exclusively

You read that headline correctly; Warner Bros. has announced today that it’s going to side with Blu-ray exclusively and drop all support for HD DVD. However, we will continue seeing HD DVD releases from Warner until May of this year. “The window of opportunity for high-definition DVD could be missed if format confusion continues to linger. We believe that exclusively distributing in Blu-ray will further the potential for mass market success and ultimately benefit retailers, producers, and most importantly, consumers,” Warner Bros Chairman and Chief Executive Barry Meyer said in a statement....

Dante’s Inferno on the Commodore 64

When Visceral Games and EA first announced itsGod of War-esque action game,Dante’s Inferno, they were greeted with a mixture of disbelief and uproar. Some gamers could not comprehend how you could evenbeginto base an action title around Dante Alighieri’s famous literary satire, while others were outright offended that such source material was being raped to serve the greedsome corporate machinations of the evil and disrespectful games industry. Perhaps they did not know, as I certainly did not until recently, that EA’sDante’s Infernois not thefirstgame to name itself afterThe Divine Comedy....

Dead Rising making its way to PCs?

According to UK-based gaming sitePlayTM, Capcom’s games distributor in Italy has let slip that that the highly-stressful, zombie-slaughtering action ofDead Risingis coming to the PC. PlayTMis reporting that Capcom UK have refused to comment, which means — if history has taught us anything — that it’s highly likely. An Xbox 360 “exclusive,”Dead Risingwas definitely the straw that broke the undead camel’s back for many gamers who purchased Microsoft’s console simply to massacre hordes of zombies with a katana....

Destructoid review: Samba De Amigo

Samba De Amigois the direct ancestor of not one, buttwoof gaming’s latest controller crazes; musical instrument simulators and motion sensitive controllers. Back in the dying days of the Sega Dreamcast, beforeGuitar Heroor the Wii Remote were anywhere to be seen,Samba De Amigofeatured maraca shaped controllers that could feel it when you shook them. Keep in mind, this was back in the year two thousand, when we all were so happy that the world didn’t end after the release of the Y2K virus that everything seemed wonderful and amazing, even maraca shaped joysticks....

Dishonored screens make us fear the STILT POLICE!

Take a look at theDishonoredimage above. Those are law enforcers on robotic stilts. They are theSTILT POLICE(not the official name), and I have so many questions about them. In fact, let’s list them: Go check out the rather modest selection of screens while I continue to fear a future where the protectors of society are forced to stagger around on thin mechanical legs.
