In addition to adding five adventures created by the game’s dedicated fan base to the main game, Patch 1.5 eliminates the game’s copy protection and allows players to freely kill monsters without a disc. But, wait, that’s not all: CD Projekt RED has also solved the mystery behind those pesky EAX graphical bugs. A fix for that has been included in this patch as well....
Notorious patent troll Tim Langdell has actually released a game for the first time in ages. His company, Edge Games, has spent the last few years aggressively attempting to sue any other game-related company that uses the word “Edge” and has gained little more than humiliation and hatred in the process. The game is an iOS title calledEDGEBobby2, which pegs itself as the sequel to 1984 8-bit computer gameBobby Bearing. There are plans to bring this sequel to the “highly popular game” to PC and Mac....
tri-Ace is usually known for its collaborations with Square Enix, so it was quite surprising to see the studio jump into bed with Sega forEnd of Eternity, its latest stupidly-named RPG full of floppy-haired boy heroes. I’ve not seen many new RPG ideas come from the studio recently, but if you believe tri-Ace, that may be more the fault of Square Enix. “BecauseSEGAhas a more open attitude towards accepting new RPG ideas than Square Enix, we’d decided to haveSEGAreleaseEnd of Eternity,”explainsgame director Takayuki Suguro....
The news onDiablo IIIjust keeps on churning. Two new classes have been introduced. The first is the Barbarian. Thankfully, he is still a huge, armored beast that cuts up monsters at will. The other is the Witch Doctor, which may prove to excite many potential players with his combination of voodoo and necromancy. It’s been a full 12 hours since I heard about this announcement and I still don’t know why it’s happening. That’s right kids; ABC and Ubisoft have teamed up to bringGrey’s Anatomyto the Wii, DS and PC sometime this year. InGrey’s Anatomy: The Video Game, players will take control of the doctors from the show and make decisions in their personal and professional lives. Players will get to perform surgeries and hopefully have lots and lots of sex just like in the TV show....
Holy crap! Let it never be said that theAliens vs. Predatorfranchise is irrelevant. There was some doubt to whether or notAvPwould have the brand recognition to still succeed in this day and age, but Rebellion’s interspecies brawler has debuted at number one in the UK. That’s ridiculously surprising. AvPhas overtakeJust Dance,BioShock 2,New Super Mario Bros.and more. It’s just a shame that the game disappointed me, which means I can’t be happy about seeing my favorite sci-fi monsters at the top of the chart....
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — children have learned. They have learned from their parents, from teachers and most importantly, from the media, that videogames can be blamed for everything that is wrong in the world, so the finger doesn’t have to be pointed at themselves. Now it’s getting silly, withan entire panelof UK teenagers blaming videogames for knife crime. I am sure that opinion is uninfluenced, too....
Valve has been appealing a decision by the Australian rating board to refuse an MA15+ classification forLeft 4 Dead 2, effectively banning the zombie sequel in the country. Valve has a heavily censored game rated and ready to go, but was hoping to make Australia’s authorities see sense and allow the real game to get into the hands of Australian hands. No dice, unfortunately, as the board hasrejected the appeal....
Videogames get blamed for a lot of stuff: murders, drunk driving, foul language, the downfall of Western civilization. However, this is the final straw. Games are now being blamed for doing good. A bunch of psychologists over atIowa State Universitywent ahead and conducted a study that they say shows that “some non-violent videogames can teach kids to be more cooperative and helpful to others.” Add another finger pointed at videogames to the list, I guess....

When it comes to video games, every company has that one magical product that they rely on frequently to net profits. In the case of Microsoft, Xbox Live and their Live Arcade service are among the primary factors that enabled them to start profiting from the 360. In the case of Nintendo, the DS pulled them out of their slump after the near-disasterous tenure of the GameCube. Electronic Arts has their sports franchises to fall back on when all else fails....

As expected, the imbecile parade has been out in full force, with panic and fear setting in for the release of this so-called ‘violent’ videogame (remember, un-sentient plastic is incapable of violence). We’ve had Rockstar defending its artistic creativity, and everyone who isn’t Rockstar attacking everything else.
