I love howCall of Duty: World at War, a game that emphasized the Pacific theatre of World War II, has been overshadowed by its delightfully out of place zombie multiplayer mode. We live in a whacky world, folks. Car alarms go off with the slightest brush of a side panel, but you still have to push over an arcade cabinet before it starts dinging. (Don’t ask.) Anyway — yesterday,World at War’sfirst bit of downloadable content was announced....

Capcom has released the first solid information on theDevil May Cry 4demo wementioned last week, and we’re sending our leather jackets to the cleaners in preparation. Available in early 2008, the demo is said to be “a sampling of sections from the game, chosen to showcaseDevil May Cry 4‘s varied locales and allows gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero’s unique abilities.” You know, it’s going to be very demo-like. No word on an exact release, but this much is for sure: PlayStation 3 owners will be getting it a week earlier than Xbox 360 gamers who don’t have a Gold Xbox Live account....

Japan is getting a PS3 bundle forCastlevania: Lords of Shadow, which seems kind of strange on its own. But when you hear that the bundle also includesMetal Gear Solid 4it seems even more strange. It’s almost like Konami told Sony that they had a bunch of extra MGS4 discs lying around and that they could do whatever they wanted with them.Hell, let’s just throw them in the box. The Castlevania Lords of Shadow Value Pack will be released on December 16 forÂ¥37,980 (about $467)....

Natal is the latest attempt from videogame makers at making games less fun! Sorry, but I enjoy playing games with a controller in hand rather than throwing my entire body around. Anyway, Microsoft has just announced that Natal will be available this Holiday season. And that’s all the news we’re getting about that. No word on price or what Natal will actually be named. We’ll hopefully find out more about Project Natal by E3 this year....

Club Nintendo has revealed its rewards for its “Elite” members, and it’s, um… wow. It’s awesome. The “Super Mario Characters Figurine” is a 3.9 inch in height, 4.6 inch in diameter display featuring your favorite Nintendo characters — Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Toad, a Goomba, and Bowser watching over them all. It comes in fancy decorative packaging, if you may stand the keep the sucker in a box. In order to be eligible for “Elite” status, members will have had to have earned over 600 coins....

It all started back on November 30 of last year. Haxan was sick of the little kids that plague online gaming and wanted to find some real challengers. So he turned to Dtoid and came up with the Destroy Haxan contest over on his Community Blog where the grand prizewinner would be receiving a copy ofStreet Fighter IV. The last timewe heard anythingabout Double Fine’sBrütal Legend, we’d heard that Activision Blizzard were allegedly being gratuitous dicks and blocking its release. Well, if game creator Tim Schafer’s hints are anything to go by, we might be hearing something a bit more pleasant soon. Schafer and pals have an interesting “Threat Level” system in place regarding the rock-themed action game, which indicates whenever the game’s status has changed.
