It seems that Sony isn’t keen on letting Microsoft have all the fun in pretending that its new “me too” motion-sensing peripheral is a brand new platform. PS3 studio boss Michael Denny has joined in on the motion hype, claiming that Sony’s new Wiimote is also like a fresh system. “The motion control system we’re putting in place going forward is we’re treating as more of a platform,”he says. “You’re right that here in Europe we have a lot of experience helping develop the peripherals for our social games but we see the motion control solution and experience as being broader than that....

Space Invaders Extremeon PlayStation Portable is cool. On Xbox LIVE Arcade, it’s somehow even cooler, at least in my mind. Every time I shoot down a row of blue invaders and obtain the laser power-up, I experience the greatest moment of my life. I … I have problems. Team Bondi creative staff are among a slew of other creditors owed big amounts of money following the destruction of theL.A. Noirestudio. Over forty people are owed more than $1.4 million (Australian) in collective debt. Developers in production, gameplay, design and programming — as well as one intern — are owed amounts ranging from $1,600 to $99,000. Even the vilified former boss of Bondi, Brendan McNamara, is due $102,000. Oh, and since the company’s getting liquidated, there’s a good chance nobody will get even a decent fraction of what they’re owed....

Konami has officially announced thatMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eaterwill be arriving on the 3DS some time next year. It won’t be an enhanced version of the game with updated visuals, if Konami is to be believed. Instead, the game is said to be a faithful port of the original PS2 game. CD Projekt RED’s Tomasz Gop elaborated on a couple ofThe Witcher 2details in an interview with Eurogamer, who snatched him up during theCD Projekt conference. Lucha Furyis a arcade-style brawler coming to Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow. Four luchadores will save the world while operating under the influence of hi-octane energy drinks. There will also be chickens. I expect this to be goofy, mindless fun. We get a fair few beat-em-ups on Live Arcade and it always seems as if the more outrageous they can be, the better the games wind up being. So, there’s hope for this one yet....

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kingshas received patch v1.1, which adds a few tweaks to the game itself but brings something much more important — the execution of DRM restrictions. The game’s DRM-free status was a big selling point, but you only got that if you bought it fromGOG. If bought from anywhere else, anti-piracy measures were quite ensconced, and also responsible for a number of performance issues. Until now....

You have to hand it to Danger Close and DICE for having the confidence to put out a video like this. In case you couldn’t tell, it’s straight-up raw footage fromMedal of Honor‘s multiplayer. The lack of cuts tells me they feel their game is strong enough to stand on its own; I can appreciate that sentiment. On the flipside, I’m not so sure I can handle another DICE-made multiplayer so soon afterBattlefield: Bad Company 2....
