It’s been a long time since Pixel (Daisuke Amaya) has put out a new game. He completedCave Storyin 2004, worked on the WiiWare and DSiWare ports of the game that were released last year, and put out a microgame for Warioware D.I.Y., but we haven’t seen anything in the way of totally new, stand alone projects. When themost recent NHL lockoutled to the cancellation of the entire 2004–05 hockey season, the popularity of the sport in America — which was already not that high to begin with when compared to the other three major sports (football, baseball, basketball) — absolutely plummeted. The sport still hasn’t quite been able to make up the precipitous drop in followers that it suffered as a result of the lockout, which is a damn shame, because it’s so much fun to watch....

Capcom has stated that Dante’s portion of the game may come later, but it’s not confirmed....

Earlier today, during the keynote address at this year’s QuakeCon, id CEO Todd Hollensheadannouncedthat there will, in fact, be anotherDoomgame. Presumably due to the game being way too early in development there weren’t any trailers or concept art to show attendees. Hollenshead did give a quick rundown of features that we can expect to see, though, stating that “There will be guns, blood, demons, and gibs.” It might besomething of a stretch, but I’m also predicting that players will be controlling a tough as nails space marine that will be using the guns to evoke blood sprays from the demons while simultaneouslywaxing poeticabout the state of the environment....

BioWare continues to show its crazy post-release support forDragon Age: Originsthis August, with a new downloadable add-on called “Golems of Amgarrak.” The DLC will let you import your Warden from the originalOriginsorAwakening, or create a new high-level character from any other class. “Golems” tells the story of the Dwarven exploration of a subterranean ruin which gave birth to an army of golems. Expect new characters, new creatures, new puzzles… you know the drill....
