Play PS3 with an iOS device

The idea sounds kind of screwy, but when you see it in action it’s actually pretty cool. Pandaelf sent us a video demonstrating how they’ve put together a rig that lets them play PS3 games through an iOS device. Very long story short, video is sent to the PS3 to the iPhone (or iPad, or iPod), and at the same time input commands are sent from the iPhone to the PS3....

Police arrest two in PS3 shooting; victim sucks too!

By now, unless you’ve been living under the Xbox 360 power brick, you’ve heard the story of the guy who was camping out for a PlayStation 3 only to catch a couple bullets to the abdomen(I REALLY wanted to write thorax, so can we all just picture him as a giant beetle for a moment so that sentence works? — Nex).Well, the good news is that theycaught the perpetrators, and are preparing to backhand them with the righteous pimp hand of justice....

Pre-E3 09: Silent Hill Wii makes me cream my pants in fear

Children are creepy. That’s a guaranteed rule of horror. Add a little distortion, make them sound really innocent, and bam! You’ve got an instant success for horror. We’ve already heard about how the game controlfrom Hamza’s preview, as well as Tom Hulett’s words fromColette’s interview with him, but now we’re finally getting a chance to see the game in motion. Looking at thisre-imagining in motion, which you may see after the jump, I’m really impressed with how the game is going to look and sound....

Preview: Food Network: Cooked or Be Cooked

In a perfect world, either Dale North or Johnathan Ross would have been on hand to preview this game. Not because I didn’t think it was cool, but because all they ever talk about when we’re all together is food. And the Food Network. And shows on the Food Network. But, hey, I like food. I eat it every day, and there may come a day when I want to cook myself something other than pizza rolls....

Prizes coming to 1 vs. 100 Live this week

The voice of1 vs. 100 Livedropped a bombshell Friday evening. Starting July 10th, Microsoft will begin dishing out “skill-based prizes” to players in “the mob” and possibly the person wearing “the one” pants. The latter we’re not too sure about –host Chris Cashman wasn’t exactly clear with his announcement. Despite prizes being given away,1 vs. 100Live will stay in beta. We’re guessing Microsoft and the folks behind the first Primetime title need to iron out some kinks....

PS3 not kicking ass in Japan, SCE boss Shuhei Yoshida blames publishers

While the PS3’s performance in Japan isn’t exactly boo-worthy, it isn’t rocking quite as hard as Sony might like it to (although comparing anything to the ridiculous success of the Wii is the ultimate recipe for flaccidity). SCE Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida recently commented on the topic at the Games Convention in Germany: It’s mostly a software thing. Price is important, but relative to the the value consumers perceive. There are lots of consumers, game fans in Japan, that are waiting to spend their money....

PSP opens up in stop motion action

I havepreviously expressedmy disinterest for what is going on inside my gaming consoles. I also don’t like unboxings because they are dumb (unless theyinvolve a cat). However, the video above is a massive exception to my general dislike of these things. Sure it’s an ad for some technology repair company, but if they put together videos this awesome then I think they should garner some business from it. I would also like to announce that the insides of a PSP are far less exciting than I thought they would be....

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction: New info and first screen

Thenumber onenumber two reason to pick up a PS3 this year (recently updated since theextremely coolPlayStationHomenewshit earlier today),Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, has a first screen shot and it is … well … a’ight. Not that it looks bad by any means, there are just such high expectations for this game, as the Ratchet & Clank series is one the best video game series out there. Perhaps it is the low polygon design of the skeleton character or the close angle everything is being viewed at, but, for whatever reason, this screen shot just looks like a high resolution, cleaned up shot from one of theolder PlayStation 2 Ratchet games(where is my gloriously detailed, high-def lombax fur, Insomniac?...

Remedy: Sony, Nintendo must reinvent handhelds to compete

Alan Wakedeveloper Remedy believes that Sony and Nintendo need to significantly overhaul their portable efforts if they’re to compete against the rising popularity of smartphones and tablets. According to executive VP Aki Järvilehto, the DS and PSP concept just won’t cut it. “Right now you can buy tons and tons of fun on iOS with the price of a single handheld console game,” he declared. “Heck, you can get tons of fun for free with advertising based concepts....

RetroforceGO! Episode 23: Mario Madness

So a plumber, a mushroom, and a dinosaur walk into a bar … That sounds like the beginning to a pretty stupid joke, but I bet that you at least know that it’s a Mario joke. The reason being, is that the little plumber and his crew of made up friends are so iconic, so well known, that even the mere mention of them aswhat they are— not even their names — elicits a response in your gamer brain....

Anyway, while I’m figuring out the answers to the math maze that is the 1040A tax form, allow me to give you guys what you really came here for: the latest episode ofRetroforceGO!...

Roaches. Why did it have to be roaches?

We already know we like Japanese publisherD3, but our love would overflow if theSimple 2000series of games would be released outside Japan. Simple2000 series Vol. 113, also known asThe Mass Hell, gives you everything you could want in a budget title: talking rabbits, cell phone theft, flying eyeballs, and an asston of nasty things. There has to be a fetish site out there for this stuff. In order to prepare for the Feburary 22nd launch, D3 gives us a newWeb sitewith what has to be the best flash intro for a game release yet....
