You read that right – Hollywood big-shot producer Jerry Bruckheimer is getting into the videogame industry. In association with MTV Games, the producer has announced the two executives who (under the keen eye of Bruckheimer himself) will lead Jerry Bruckheimer Games, Incorporated. Jim Veevaert, former Microsoft Games man responsible for production of theHalofranchise on the Xbox 360, has been announced as President of Productions. Jay Cohen, best known for his work with Ubisoft’s North American divisions, will be working President of Development....

As many of you know,Dragon Quest IXwas released in North America today. I’ve had the game for the past several days and have been loving it, but as you might imagine,Dragon Quest IXis as huge as it is fun. That means it’s very, very huge. The review is coming, but yours truly is nowhere near deep enough in the game. Just look at all the problems I have: As you can see, I’m in a dire situation, and have been playing my DS until the batteries die, charging up, and doing it again for the past few days!...

People really like survival horror games. According to Valve, pre-orders ofLeft 4 Deadare outperformingOrange Box’snumbers by over 65 percent at this point pre-launch. The big question is, how many pre-orders is that exactly? Valve is remaining mum on that subject, but according to our number crunching gremlins, over 65% ofOrange Boxpresales means “a lot.” The percentage speaks to the hype surrounding the game and it seems quite valid. This summer at E3, Nick Chester and Anthony Burch were able toplay a four-player cooperative sessionof the game....

Both theLogitech Wireless Guitar Controller for Wiiand theWireless Drum Controller for Wiilook like pretty solid offerings. Fancy-pants, if you will. They’re both Activision approved, so they’ll work withGuitar Hero 5andBand Hero. They look to be quite high-end, almost like the real things. The guitar has a maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets, just like the real deal. Tiny Cartridge has spotted a video of the anti-piracy measures found inMicheal Jackson: The Experiencefor DS, and let me tell you, they are glorious. Not only have the on-screen prompts been removed — rendering the game itself unplayable — but the developers added vuvuzelas to the audio. It’s been almost long enough since the vuvuzela memes were rampant that this is actually kind of funny again. Best of all, you just know that now even more people are going to pirate this game just to witness the horror in person....

Therumors and leakshave once again proven to be true: Microsoft has revealed today that they will be offering two bundles this holiday, set to hit stores by the end of October. Microsoft will be packing in two games with both the $399.99 Xbox 360 package, and the $449.99 Xbox 360 Elite package. As previously reported, the games in question will be Activision’sMarvel Ultimate Allianceand Microsoft Game Studios’Forza Motorsport 2. Not much more to report on this, as it is what it is....
