Spring Up Harmonyis a new arrival to Xbox Live Indie Games. Above is a launch trailer for what developer Frozax Games says takes the “best of Breakout and Pachinko” and merges them together into this title. You know what I see?Pegglewith a few elements added. Certainly there are worse games to emulate, but let’s call a spade a spade. This is aPeggleclone which sports some gameplay variation such as having to catch displaced gems in a basket at the bottom of the screen....

[Update:I totally miscounted how many characters were inSuper Street Fighter 4on the 360/PS3. I thought that there were 33, but clearly there are 35, which means that Super Street Fighter 4: 3D will have at least as many characters as the original. Hooray?] There’s a lot of news in these two videos from theSuper Street Fighter IV:3Dpresentation at Nintendo World 2011: online spectator mode,Smash Bros.-style trophy collecting, and the inclusion of three costumes per characters is just the start of it....

Ubisoft is releasing aSmurfsgame for the Wii and DS family. Perhaps that implies a 3DS title as well, but we’ll have to wait in hot anticipation for more on that. What we do know is that it will be a game based on the upcoming3D CGI/live-action horror movie. Can you think of anything more terrifying? Castle building and total destruction sim,Stronghold 3,has gone gold and will be arriving on PC worldwide on October 25. So man your trebuchets or grab some of that tar! Normal people have those things in their homes, right? If you don’t own any of those things just enjoy the video and wait. InStronghold 3aspiring Lords will have to construct and maintain a settlement and deftly manage their resources so they can build an impenetrable fortress....

Even aftertalking to the famed tipster Surfer Girl, we still don’t know what to make of her. We do know that she says a lot of things that we like to hear, and on Christmas she said that theMother/Earthboundseries will come to the US, possibly sometime next year. Listed as #2 in herDecember twenty-fifth things, SG says that the title will hit either the Nintendo Wii or DS, which makes total sense asMother is a Nintendo series....

Target sent along some pretty good gift card deals as a couple of them relate to videogames directly. They’re they type of deals where you go buy something and they give you a gift card to come back and buy again. Everyone wins. All of these special bargains kick off on Sunday, April 25th. If you buy a Nintendo DSi you’ll get back $10 as a Target gift card. All games for the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and DS are eligible for a $5-$10 gift card, depending on the cost of the game....

Before Telltale began their presentation last night to show off their upcoming line-up, they wanted to inform us about some impressive stats. It’s a neat little video with how the digital age is growing more and more and we’ll be seeing a lot more games coming at us in digital form. Even as a non-gaming related video, this is just too cool not to share.

Sega unloaded a bunch of screenshots and character renders fromValkyria Chronicles 2at TGS today. I am here to serve as a conduit for those images, a source by which you may view and enjoy them. That is the purpose I serve today. It looks promising. The look is right, although it isn’t as though the first game really pushed the graphical limits of the PlayStation 3. If it can keep the same caliber of storytelling along with the endearing characters, I suspect we’re in for a treat....

Ghost Trickis not an action game. It’s the new game from the team that brought us the fairly non-violentAce Attorneyseries. Still, non-violent doesn’t mean easy, and it certainly doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to die. In fact,Ghost Trickstarts off with the death of the game’s main character, and from there on out, his continued existence on this mortal plane is constantly in peril. I don’t want to say thatGhost Trickis “darker” than theAce Attorneyseries, because that franchise certainly has its fair share of murder as well....

Console quality in portable games is officially here with Ubisoft’sRayman Originson PS Vita. I say this because the Vita version I saw today looks a lot like its console counterpart. There may be slight differences, but in no way would I say that it’s worse. The game is still beautiful, and the Vita’s OLED screen makes it look even more crisp and vivid than it did on a HDTV when I saw it last....

In case you don’t get the newly-named Games for Windows magazine, then you may still know very little about the latest PC gaming gimmick calledThe Crossingand its cross-player gameplay — basically single player mashes up with multiplayer. Confused about how it will work? Yeah, so am I, but maybe this will give you a little more of a clue as to how it all will come together.
