What do hamburgers andCall of Duty: Black Ops‘ upcoming “Escalation” map pack have in common? Well, nothing, other than gamers are probably hungry for both. (Rim shot.) The latest trailer mixes live action diner action with plenty of footage from the upcoming downloadable expansion. This also includes footage of the “Call of the Dead” zombie map, which assembles adream team of Hollywood horror talent. GameStop is also hoping you’ll head into a shop to pick up the content instead of being a lazy ass and just getting it online....

Prototypeis looking really exciting, and I have high hopes for it. It’s encouraging then, that this new video shows how into it the developers are. They seem to have invested a lot of time thinking about the game world of an infected New York, and hopefully that care and attention will translate into a great new IP. In this video, they tell us about the Blackwatch, a group of soldiers specializing in the wiping out of infections such as the one ravaging New York City....

The new releases aren’t much this week, but it’s sure better than the previous two week’s offerings. Of all the games, I’m looking forward to picking upBig Bang Mini. When the redesign of the Xbox 360 dropped in Japan, gamers there got excited and snapped so many up that there was a sales spike of 800 percent. Were they just waiting for a better looking game system? Were they just thinking thatMonster Hunterwould be better on a sexier system? That’s all over now. The new Media Create numbers show that the excitement has collapsed, with about 7,000 units sold this reporting period....

Bethesda’sFallout 3set the bar for post-release support in this console generation with its robust package of five add-ons: “Operation: Anchorage,” “The Pitt,” “Broken Steel,” “Point Lookout,” and “Mothership Zeta.” When I askedFallout: New Vegassenior producer Jason Bergman if DLC would be coming for that game, too, here was his excited-but-short-on-details reply: “Yes! Yes, we do! That is the answer to that question!” He wouldn’t go into specifics, except to assure me that Obsidian and Bethesda are “working on getting the game out the door first....

Three hot lookingOverlordgames are out, and my review copies should be arriving today. To celebrate, Codemasters has released a bunch of rather cool wallpapers, commemorating the release ofOverlord II,Overlord: MinionsandOverlord: Dark Legend. I’ve been tapping my foot impatiently forOverlord IIever since it was announced, as the original game was possibly my favorite new title of 2007. The use of evil little Gremlins and dark sense of humor made the game far more compelling to me thanPikmin, and it looks like the sequel is going to be more of the same, but with an even greater slant on pure evil....

Whoever was responsible for capturing the above image fromCrackdown 2deserves the rest of the day off. It really captures the joy of being a badass super agent who can miraculously glide through the air like few pictures before it. I’m still not one-hundred percent sold on the concept of mutants in Pacific City, but I suppose I’d rather Ruffian Games change the formula up a bit than retell the same story....
