FormerShadowrunCommunity Manager Kimonahas announcedthat the officialShadowrunforums will be shutting down within the next two weeks. With the game’s developer FASA having closed its doors, there simply weren’t enough people on payroll to monitor the forums. “We’ll eventually close down www.shadowrun.com,” Kimona adds, “and transition it to the folks working on the next generation ofShadowrunproducts.” Whether or not those products will be videogames remains to be seen, but it’s unlikely we’ll seeShadowrunhome appliances or microwave dinners....

Another day, another “games made me do it” excuse. Fortunately, this one is actually pretty funny. A six-year-old Virginia boy was so intent on getting to school one morning that, after missing the school bus,he decided to help himselfto the family sedan and drive there. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it to school on time, crashing the car instead. He only suffered minor injuries, and was even able to get to school, escorted there by authorities after a quick hospital evaluation....

Nintendo announced today information regarding a limited edition bundle forThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The package, which will retail for $69.99, comes packaged with a gold controller. Additionally, every copy ofSkyward Swordfrom the initial production run — standard and special editions — will have a compact disc with orchestral arrangements of songs from the series which will be played at upcoming 25th anniversary concert performances. It’s that wonderful time of year again, my friends: spring training is under way, and anticipation for the 2008 baseball season is at a fever pitch. I was at E3, but I sort of wasn’t.Shooting/editing videonon-stop kept me from seeing a lot of what the show had to offer, and don’t even get me started onthe partiesI missed. One thing I did see at E3 was a prevailing lack of excitement about PS Move and Kinect. Last year at E3, everyone was talking about Natal, and how you could use it to transport real life objects into your games, and basically create magic....

The news in May thatunsuccessful XBLA titles would be delistedseemed difficult to misinterpret — especially since Mark Whitten, General Manager of Xbox Live, said it word for word. As of this week, it seems that isn’t the case after all, at least if Microsoft Corporate VP Tom Schappert is to be believed. According to Schappert, the information about delisting was “taken out of context” and there are no immediate plans to remove any of the XBLA library selections at this time....
