Monthly Musings: The Forgotten

Every month, the Destructoid Monthly Musing topic gives community members the ability to have their work posted on the Dtoid front page. Our “Games Time Forgot” series strove to highlight old and unappreciated games, but you’ll be seeing a lot less of it in the future. I’d always envisioned it as a collaborative series, where editors from various backgrounds would bring attention to games the rest of us had never heard of....

MotorStorm delayed … again

Originally thought to be out in the U.S. on Feb. 26,MotorStorm(that gritty driving game Sony is banking heavily on) has been pushed back to a vague“spring 2007”release date. While the delay will annoy those who have nothing to do but playResistanceand aGTdemo all day, you gotta put it in perspective: at least it’s getting more love and attention, right? Sonyrespondedto the delay: “The team is doing some additional fine tuning and getting the online features squared away so they are taking a bit more time,” said the Sony representative....

NASCAR and Wii fans collide in Nintendo’s exclusive contest

If free airfare, hotel accommodations, $250 in cash and VIP passes to the garage isn’t enough of an incentive for you to enter, then you probably don’t like NASCAR to begin with. For those that do, this is your chance to make it all happen. As someone who has been to the “Monster Mile” a few times (and could only hope of getting garage passes to meet the drivers), I can assure you that the track has been home to some of NASCAR’s most exciting races....

New Darksiders trailer is pretty kick-ass

THQ has unleashed a hot new trailer forDarksidersupon the world and it looks pretty damn good. It seems that this game has been consistently looking bigger and better as time goes on, and one can only assume that’s a good thing. With Mark Hamilljoining the voice cast, a rather unique story, and plenty of mindless violence featuring impossibly proportioned meatheads with ludicrously huge swords, this should be a great game to kick off the new year with....

Nintendo’s PAX line-up has Super Mario 3D Land and more

This year, Nintendo has quite a decent selection of titles I’m personally anticipating getting my hands on, especially in the handheld department. 3DS games which look great — imagine that! Here’s the line-up for booth #462, which includes a sampling of third-party games as well. Nintendo 3DS Wii Nintendo DS But wait, there’s more! Nintendo is also going to take up space elsewhere. On the third floor of the Nintendo Gaming Lounge, you can get Kirby-themed cotton candy, sit on Kirby’s face (beanbag chairs), and get other goods for wearing on your body, apparently....

Not even half-naked Asian girls make Kinect look good

You could blame it on the flash photography. You could blame it on the players not knowing what they’re doing. Alternatively, you could blame it on Kinect being a load of crap that’s more concept than substance. Your humble writer isn’t stating that one or any of these things can be blamed. Just watch the video. As you’re able to see, Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to have some half-naked Asian girls play Kinect’s version ofWii Sportsand Kinect’s version ofDance Dance Revolution....
