Project Zomboid taken offline due to piracy

Project Zomboidhas gained a cult following since it released earlier this year. Like all indie games, it relies entirely on dedicated support from fans in order to survive. So when people decide to pirate the game, it’s going to hit the studio pretty hard. Hard enough to force the three-man team to take the game offline. It’s worth noting that the game being stolen costs a measly five bucks. Stay classy, gamers!...

PSPgo is officially dead

Yesterday it waspretty strongly rumoredthat Sony had discontinued the mewling abortion that is the PSPgo, quietly dropping it from production and hoping nobody would notice. Of course, when itwasnoticed, Sony tried to dance around the issue, but has finallycome cleanand admitted it’s over. According to the publisher, the device has been scrapped so that Sony can concentrate fully on the NGP. It would appear other models of the PSP are still in production though, so I guess Sony didn’t need to concentratethatmuch....

Quick observation: It’s true, old people do play the DS

For the next two days, I’ll be in Las Vegas (hopefullySARS freethis time) to take a damn good look at some upcoming games and such from Midway. Well, on the flight here from New York, there just so happened to be a Nintendo marketing dream sitting next to me — an old dude with a DS. While watching TV at my seat, I see out of the corner of my eye that this old dude — we’ll call him gramps for this story — whips out a white DS Lite....

Here’s a random surprise: Rebellion Developments’Rogue Trooperis being ported to the Wii. The third-person shooter follows the story of Rogue Trooper, a genetically engineered super-soldier of the future who has taken on the abilities of four of his fallen comrades. Review: Alan Wake

Alan Wakeis a game with a long, long history. First announced in 2005, this “psychological action thriller” was originally in development for the Xbox 360 and PC. But aside from a few scant details, the game’s developer remained strangely silent for the vast majority of its five-year development history. Then it was announced as an Xbox 360 exclusive with mixed reasons provided by Microsoft and developer Remedy. Such a storied development history usually bodes ill for the game in question, but Remedy and Microsoft have been consistently confident thatAlan Wakewill be one of 2010’s outstanding titles....

Risen screens are some screens from Risen

Despite the fact that it looks a little generic, I’m quite looking forward to Deep Silver’s upcoming PC and Xbox 360 RPG,Risen. I don’t know why, outside of my soft spot for Western-themed roleplaying games, but I am still quite interested in checking the game out. Anyway, here are some pretty pictures. The human characters look a little big bland, but I’m liking the creatures, especially the eyeless gorilla tube-mouthed thing in the header image....

Saints Row 3 axed multiplayer ‘cos co-op more important

As we saw earlier this week,Saints Row: The Thirdwill not be including a multiplayer option, instead pouring its efforts into the single-player and co-op features. According to THQ, this was due to consumer demand for co-op, making it far more important than competitive modes. “The majority of people wanted the single-player and co-op experience, so we’re focusing on blowing that out of the water,” said senior producer Greg Donovan inGame Informer....

Saints Row 3 confirmed for Fall release

THQ has confirmed that the third installment in the rather excellentSaints Rowseries, handily namedSaints Row 3, is going to release later this year. In the Fall, to be exact! According to THQ CEO Brian Farrell, Volition is “setting a new bar for this outstanding franchise,” with more information to be unveiled in the near future. That’s all we really know so far, but I am damn excited.Saints Row 2is one of my favorite games of the generation, so I cannot wait to get back into a world of crossdressing, poo-spraying and scarily psychotic justifications for completely unreasonable violence against those who disagree with us....
