Tonight’s Podtoid is available in David Bowie’s mind

Oh lawd, it’s another Podtoid. Somebody callthe po-lice. Tonight, Jim, Aaron, Topher and myself will discuss Sega’s decision to stop producing hardware, how fans “should” react to preview info about games they’re really looking forward to, and Jim’s recentTen Golden Rulesarticle. Two Worlds II’s Sordahon does contract negotiations

I would expect that the process of hiring a celebrity to be in your videogame has the potential to be very frustrating indeed. Take Sordahon fromTwo Worlds IIas an example. Here, the people at Southpeak are doing everything they can to make the game awesome for Sordahon but it’s just not good enough. And then he demands to have his girlfriend put in the game. The ego is unbelievable. I do really dig this series of videos Southpeak has been producing forTwo Worlds II....

Ubisoft teasing something with film poster knock-offs

Ubisoft sent us some images today, and we can assume it’s for a game, but we don’t really know. Why? They’re not telling. The three images — knock-offs of movie posters forJaws,Friday the 13th, andPulp Fiction— came in an email that had little to no context. The subject text leads itself into the body of the email text, which when completed reads “You may not know it… but everyone can make it in Hollywood… with a glimpse of cruelty....

Valkyria Chronicles 2 on PSP so it can come out quicker

WhenValkyria Chronicles 2was announced, its cult following was pleased. WhenValkyria Chronicles 2was revealed to be a PSP game, its cult following was less pleased. Many hold out for another PS3 game, but the game’s producerhas explainedthat if this game were on the black box o’ Blu-ray, you wouldn’t see it for years. Shuntaro Tanaka estimates that a console-based sequel would take three years to complete. The PSP release is simply a matter of time — it’s quicker to make a smaller game, so that’s why the series has gone portable....
