Namco will be showing a whole bunch of titles at this year’s Gamescom, and most of them we aleady saw at E3 this year (you can see the full list after the jump). Sounded pretty ho-hum, but then we heardvia Joystiqthat the pre-show press conference on August 19th will hold some special information in the form of “major exclusive new announcements”. What might that be? By the way, in case you’re wondering why there’s a whale jumping out of the ocean with a rainbow in the background as the header of this post and not a Namco-related picture, it’s because I was in the mood to put one there....

Last week, we told you about how NASA wantedyour help to make a game. Well, we’ve got some good news. By using Kickstarter, they not only reached their goal of $25,000, but have already passed it by over $5,000. Astronaut: Moon, Mars and Beyondis being developed by Project Whitecard and Wisdom Tools under the guidance of NASA. Since they are just getting the funding together, it will be a while before the game is finished and available for us to play....

I’m not going to lie to you, dear readers. I have not watched the below trailer for Ubisoft’s upcoming game based off the television showCSI, titledCSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Deadly Intent. See the video will be done downloading in six hours and 37 minutes, and I plan to be doing other things for much of that time. When it is done, I plan to upload the video to Dtoid, embed that thing and stick it in the bottom of the post for everyone to enjoy....

I wavered pretty hard when it came to buying a DSi, even though my DS works just fine. I guess it’s the power of Nintendo to make you want things you don’t even need. That blue DSi is so sexy, though! Oh well, maybe I’ll buy one in the future after the craze has died down or I get to see more of what DSiWare will really offer. Speaking of that, Nintendo has announced the DSiWare that will be available for the launch on April 5th....

Nintendo continues its first-party DSiWare streak this week with two non-games —Animal Crossing Calculator(1 player, 200 DSi Points)andAnimal Crossing Clock(1 player, 200 DSiPoints). As you’d expect, the calculator is just that, complete with a unit converter and the ability to listen to the “Animalese” pronunciation of numbers which will come in handy for absolutely nothing. The clock is a full featured analog or digital clock, complete with an alarm; you know how muchwe love clock appshere at Destructoid....

Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Versionwill be a launch title for the Nintendo eShop when it opens. Capcom’s open-world adventure Mega Man title was co-developed by fans, and this launch title will serve as an early look at the game. A release says that once you finish the core missions you’ll receive access to areas of the game not yet finished. You’ll also get access to a debug menu that gives you special moves and abilities....

The R4 has been a pirate’s dream for many years, allowing gamers to essentially rip off the DS’ entire library and carry it around on one little cart. Sure, many people claim to buy an R4 to “back up” their existing game collection, but we all know what the things are really used for. Well, Nintendo’s sick of it, and has rallied fifty-three publishers to try and stop the things being sold....

Can you imagineLeft 4 Deadwithout co-op? At this point, it would be likeStreet Fighterwithout a versus mode, or Keith Vaz without the the complete and total ignorance. The so-called “ultimate gaming combo” that is Sony’sMetal Gear Solid 4PS3 bundle just got a little less ultimate for those of us stuck in the redheaded stepchild of the gaming market. For some retarded reason, only the US and Japan will be getting the DualShock 3 controller in their bundles, while Europe will be stuck with the SixAxis controller. Sonyrevealed thisafter yesterday’s “gamers day” where it confirmed Europe would be getting the bundle, but without the full contents....

InDreamKiller, you play as a psychiatrist who can cure her patients by entering their minds. Other things worth mentioning are the fact that you do so by blowing sh*t up with ridiculously huge guns, and the game is being made byPainkiller Overdosedeveloper Mindware Studios. I’d also like to point out how unintentionally funny the box art is (viewable in the gallery below). Looking at the protagonist, I can’t help but immediately think “psychiatrist....
