2K Games has released the first of many developer diary videos forMafia II. In the first episode, we get to take a look at the story and some of the characters making up the cast. Mafia IIhad a pretty sizable booth at PAX East this past weekend and a handful of Dtoiders got to check out the new game out in a special private session. The Dtoiders that got to play the game liked what they saw and I had an enjoyable experience with it as well....

Just like the disappointment I experienced earlier today upon finding out thatLittleBigPlanetwouldnot be hitting stores earlier than announced, it appears as though I’m in for another soul-crushing blow. In an interview withLittleBigMadness, producer ofLBPLeo Cubbin confirmed that the majority of levels created during the beta phase of the game would be deleted once the limited beta ends. When asked why levels will be deleted, Cubbin replied that Media Molecule simply won’t be able to convert everything....

It should look instantly familiar to those of you who enjoyed the previous two games in the series, but that’s a very good thing....

I’ve just checked outside and it doesn’t look like we’ve traveled back in time to 1993. Wemusthave done, however, because Mattel has filed a trademark for a Stretch Armstrong game. This is great news, because it means I can watchJurassic Parkat the movie theater again. Unfortunately, it’s not quite as fun as that. Apparently Universal is making a film based around the old toy, starring some pug-faced prick from theTwilightfilms. I have no idea how that will be anything other than terrible....

In case you hadn’t noticed theartistic direction ofMax Paynehas shifted a bit from the first two games. Gone are the noir like shadows and leather coats and in their place is sunny San Paulo, Brazil and a chubbier, dirtier looking Max Payne. Much of this is thanks to the fact that the game has been taken over by Rockstar in place of creators Remedy. An olderGame Informerpreview has been placed online that should relax some of your fears about the new direction the series is taking and new development team....

Japan’s not theonly one gettingMega Man ZEROlove from Capcom. The publisher has announce that theMega Man ZERO Collectionwill be coming to North American this summer for the Nintendo DS. The collection will feature all fourMega Man ZEROtitles on one Nintendo DS cart, the first of which originally appeared on the Game Boy Advance in 2002. It doesn’t sounds like the games will be receiving any DS-specific upgrades, but Capcom does say it will be sold at “a great price....

According to Jeff Ross, executive producer of Conan O’Brien’sConanshow on TBS, Microsoft has some big plans for Xbox Live and streaming television. While the talks never got too far, Ross says Microsoft approached Conan’s team with plans for original content. Ultimately, Conan and company had to pass, with Ross calling it a “leap of faith.” “The Xbox thing,” Ross tellsGamasutra, “a lot of the conversations were ‘well, it’s a show, but it’s not a show and there are no breaks, but maybe there are breaks and it’s not 60 minutes, it’s this’ and nobody really knew what it was....

French media giantCanal +has inked a deal with Microsoft to provide some of its content to Xbox 360 owners, but I would imagine that the offer is only available to Gold customers. The deal comes a month after Microsoft made a similar deal with British pay-TV BSkyB. Like so many of Microsoft’srecent decisions, the deal with Canal + is an attempt to createa more well-rounded (and more attractive) media entertainment consolein order to shore up some of its French marketshare....

We all know that Microsoft deliberately rushed the Xbox 360 and then hoped nobody would notice when their consoles stopped working, but if a new lawsuit is correct, Microsoft’s ignorance runs much deeper than that. Itis allegedthat MS knew about the 360’s tendency to chew up game discs, and did nothing about it. “This is … information that we as a team, optical disc drive team, knew about,” claims Hiroo Umeno, an MS programming manager, in a declaration....

If tentative plans hold together, expect the first bit ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2DLC — an Xbox 360 timed exclusive — to hit at some point in Spring 2010. Infinity Ward’s community man, Robert Bowling,tweeted as muchon November 25th: “DLC is planned for the wonderfully vague timeframe of Spring,” Bowling said in reply to a fan. He added, “I’ll let you know when we know it’ll be done.” The tweet shores up a previous report of a Spring 2010 launch date, which was brought to uscourtesy of a promotional pack of MW2-themed Monster Energy drinks....

Not content to cook up a big gay sh*tstorm with its notoriousModern Warfare 2F.A.G.S commercial, it seems that Infinity Ward had to slip some homononsensical banter into the game itself.
