Art Attack Friday: Jublin

Art Attack Friday is your weekly look at videogame fan art created by a talented artist. Prepare to have your heart broken as today’s Art Attack artist shows no mercy to your favorite Pokemons. Jublin created a series of portraits to show how Pokemon recuperate after a hard painful battle. We love to use Pokemon, but we never think of the horrible pain these poor creatures go through. Most of Jublin’s videogame artwork is violence against Pokemons, but he does have some nice Mario pieces as well....

Battered economy doesn’t affect Xbox, claims Microsoft

The US economy may be in bad shape, but that hasn’t reflected on Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices division, according to executiveRobbie Bach. The division currently looks after several computer peripherals, the Zune, Windows Mobile and of course the Xbox 360. While people struggle to afford gas, they’re not struggling to buy from Microsoft, apparently. “We have not seen, on the consumer side of our business, a slowdown,” claims Bach. He said that the videogame and computer business runs on a cycle determined by new releases, and not the economy....

Bethesda v. Mojang ‘Scrolls’ dispute going to courtroom

When Markus “Notch” Perrson received a notice that Bethesda was bringing legal action against Mojang for infringing on the Maryland company’s “The Elder Scrolls” trademark with their forthcoming game “Scrolls,” he seemed to meet it with a level of bemusement, hoping that this was the sort of posturing that would just blow over. “Lawyers being lawyers,” he called it. Seems like those lawyers are going to get plenty of opportunity to be themselves....

Bionic Commando vs The Polycraft

A gameplay video for the upcomingBionic Commandofound its way into my willing hands today. Here you can see the well-armed protagonist facing off against a machine with one of the stupidest monikers I’ve ever heard: The Polycraft. This dumb name refers to its versatility in military applications, which would lead me to suspect we’ll be fighting quite a few of them over the course of the game. I’m still on the fence about wantingBionic Commando....

Blame Master Chief’s wang for the Halo 2 Vista delay (update)

Wow, can’t say I saw this one coming: It seems the blame for the delay inHalo 2for Vista being released is a little thing called “partial nudity.” Talk about dedication. I guess those boys at Bungie just couldn’t help themselves and had to include that highly-requested Master Chief sex scene with Cortana. cue 70s porn music In an e-mail statement sent to Next-Gen, Microsoft said, “It has come to our attention that an unfortunate, obscure content error which includes partial nudity was included in our initial production of “Halo 2” for Windows Vista....

Bodycount gets its final developer diary: The Demo

The fourth and final entry in Codemasters’ super serious look at its not-so-serious shooterBodycounthas made its way to the public. I don’t know what other incentive you need though; they’ve already used the phrase “kick the ass out of the world.” I’m not sure what else you need to hear. This time around, they highlight the newly released demo and offer some closing arguments. I know I’m excited for another shooter that doesn’t take itself too seriously — we don’t need anymore forced blockbuster action movies — so here’s hoping this one can hold its own....

Bravely Default’s new screens and art make me go hgghghgh

I already told you how excited I amabout Square Enix’s upcoming 3DS RPG,Bravely Default. It’s a silly name, but I can get over that easily with art this beautiful. I like that you can see a screenshot and then later check out the art that went into it in this gallery....

Brink looks as good as ever in these latest screens

Splash Damage’sBrinkis a game I am very much interested in hearing more about, and from the look of it, I’m not alone. At PAX, not only did the demonstration booth for the game fill up, but the crowd of intrigued gamers even managed to spill over into other booths as well. Beyond just the unique look ofBrink, which, seriously, you need to see in motion, some of the game’s mechanics have also got me all hot and bothered....
