EA DICE’s exquisiteBattlefield 1943, a modern trendsetter for bite-sized games design (RE:Breach), has reached the one million sales mark on Xbox LIVE Arcade. In the process, it has earned the honor of becoming, apparently, the “fastest” game to do so in the history of the service, proving once and for all that tanks, planes, and crap weapons are big winners among the downloadable crowd. Lord knows how many copies this game has sold to date on the three platforms it’s currently available over (at least a million and one), but we’ll go ahead and guess that it’s been selling pretty good, too....

In the UK, the PS3 and Wii boast BBC iPlayer functionality, a very useful little enhancement that has proven to be a popular addition to the system’s list of talents. The iPlayer gives users access to the previous week’s worth of BBC television and radio shows, making it a valuable tool for British telly fans. The Xbox 360 cannot boast of such a tool, and unless it changes its Xbox Live policies, it never will....

If the recent appearance ofConker: Live and ReloadedandJade Empirescreenshots on a Microsoft press FTP site are any indication, the two classic titles could be coming to Xbox Live Marketplace in the near future. Folders and zipped screenshots for the two titles appeared on the FTP server this evening, which seems to be an obvious sign that they will soon be added to the current Xbox Original line-up. Electronic Arts has announced that a demo forCrysis 2is arriving on March 1. You may now make your jokes about how you already got an“unofficial” demolast week. The demo will be available for download on theofficialCrysissite, as well as various “partner” outlets. It will contain two multiplayer modes, and two maps. I tried the game out on the 360 and wasn’t too sold on the multiplayer portion. I’ll have to give the PC version a spin as well....
