Dyack: Mobile apps are hurting game industry

Silicon Knights’ Denis Dyack has criticized the mobile gaming market, stating that 17,000 “Fart” applications and an average gross of $700 per title could do harm to the game industry as a whole. “As an example, my understanding is that there are 17,000 fart apps right now,” he said. “Those are more fart apps than anyone could possibly ever consume. E3 08: More Wii MotionPlus info, but why doesn’t the Wiimote already do this?

It seemed inevitable that Nintendo would capitalize on their motion technology, considering the rampant success of the Wii itself and the reaction to WiiFit and the balance board. Some gamers complain that they dislike waving their arms around and that it doesn’t feel natural, or most of all, they feel stupid. The key is make a person have so much fun playing that they don’t care what they look like — or even cherish photos of themselves looking really goofy as a memory of a great time had....

E3 09: Halo ODST is looking hot, has an actual story

Wow, I am impressed. The Halo ODSTtrailer makes it look like you’ll actually care about the main characters and about the story. The new abilities look hot, the pistol looks cheap (hah!) andODSTdoes look better thanHalo 3graphically. There are some weird textures issues that pop in the trailer which is kind of surprising that it made it through in the video. Still, can’t wait for this. Check out the video and gallery full of screenshots, character art and a look at the new guns....
