First trailer of Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joou rocks

Last week wementionedthat the Level 5/Studio Ghibli videogame,Ni no Kuni: The Another Worldwas going to be ported over to the PS3. This was pretty exciting, as while the DS does a fine job of showing off the animation from the House that Tortoro built, the PS3 would have an even better chance of replicating the actual artwork itself. And boy does it do that. Coming to Japan sometime in 2011,Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joouis the PS3 version of the game and will better replicate animation of Studio Ghibli as well as offer a different experience than the DS game....

Game NOT over, yeah! Sega Racing Studios revived by Codemasters

I was really bummed whenSamit told usthat Sega Racing Studios was closing its doors. The 1990s vintageSega Rallyfor the Saturn is my favorite racer of all time. The Dreamcast classicSega Rally 2isn’t far behind on my list. The SRS team did a fair job with their only release,Sega Rally Revo, but the 2005 founded studio barely had a chance to prove themselves before their doors were closed. Luckily Codemasters snapped up the recently closed studio, according toNext Gen....

Gaming experience not real enough for you? Buy this vest.

As I read about this device and looked at the snapshots, my mind conjured up a few amusing pictures of gamers using this for the first time. I also wondered just why anybody would actually want to own such a device, and just how real people want the whole gaming experience to be in the first place. Just where are we going to draw the line? Anyway, the whole concept behind this device is to draw players even further into the action than ever before, through tactile feedback....

GC 10: Move wins gamescom award, console wars over

Well, this it is it. The debate over whether Move is better than Kinect is over. No, scratch that. All console wars ever are over. Sony has won. Period. Conclusion. No debate. End of conversation. Other thing that means we aren’t debating something anymore. Why, you ask, as you hurl your now useless Wii, Xbox 360 and other gaming consoles out the window. It’s because Move has won an award at gamescom for the best console accesories....

Oh, the horrible memories. But let’s ignore those! There’s a fairly simple reason why you should buy the update toGuilty Gear: Accent Core: It has a story mode. The story mode, apart from being a new mode to play through, helps flesh out more details about the characters’ backstories, and all the cutscenes are fully voiced, which is a nice treat....

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock adds Neil Young, more

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rockwins by adding a Dillinger Escape Plan song to the on-disc setlist for the upcoming title. The band will join 10 others who will be making their debut to the franchise when the game ships on September 28. Here are the goods: Sure, I would have preferred something off of DEP’s debut,Calculating Infinity, maybe “43% Burnt.” But I’m sure the person they got to chart that song got tired and quit, so I suppose this will do....

H.A.W.X. teaser trailer has pilots, jets, and bullets

I have never had an intimate connection with jet fighting games. I think the reason stems from my youth. I used to sit at my father’s Gateway 2000 — it had a beastly 8 RAM — and chop away at silly World War II games for hours on end. I never won a battle and I always ran out of fuel. Those were harsh, evil games.I’ve tried numerous titles over the years, but nothing has drawn me in....

Here’s how you blow up a building in Split/Second

Driving fast is neat. Blowing up stuff is neat. InSplit/Second, Black Rock Studio is giving people the opportunity to do both these things at the same time — if their drifting and passing abilities are good enough. In the above, we’re introduced to the “powerplay,” the mechanic that separates this racer from most of the rest on the market. When used, a catastrophic environmental collapse of a component on a track occurs, allowing you to get back into first place and snicker at those caught in whatever happens....
