Gaming has featured in quite a few episodes ofSouth Park, with the PSP, Wii,World of Warcraftand of courseChinpokomonall making appearances. Parker and Stone are set toreturn to gamingin a new episode from season 11 which featuresGuitar Hero. Considering the popularity of Red Octane’s musical franchise, it’s hardly surprising that theSouth Parkteam would eventually jump on it, cannibalizing yet another fragment of popular culture for its social satire. In the episode entitledGuitar Queer-O, Stan and Kyle become addicted to the game, but Stan’s l33t guitar skills cause tension between them....
It’s cool that the Nintendo 3DS has full online support, but that sucks when you have no access. Nintendo is looking to help out a bit on that front by offering free Wi-Fi at 25,000 locations nationwide. That means shopping centers, stores, coffee shops, airports and more will let you go oinline with your 3DS. Nintendo has formed an alliance with AT&T, Best Buy, and the Simon Property Group (a shopping mall mega-group) to pipe free internet to your 3D portable....

This is almost too absurd to believe, even for a Steam sale. Civilization IV: The Complete Edition, in case you weren’t aware, includes the core game plus three expansions:Warlords,Beyond the Sword, andColonization. Right this very minute, you can get the bundle for a whopping $10 on Steam. If you don’t own any of these games yet, I envy you so much. Monday Night Combathas been tickling us just right with itsquirkyTeam Fortress 2style commercialsand trailers, but we haven’t had a chance to really see it in action. For those at PAX East the chance to play it (and possibly win some bacon flavored mayonnaise) is in booth 417, but for us at home the above video will have to do. The video shows off “Crossfire,” which is a six-on-six game where both teams attempt to advance their army of AI controlled robots to the other team’s Money Ball....
