The Daily Hotness: Atlus gives us a Persona day

Atlus always knows just what to say. For example, knowing I was feeling blue today, it decided to announce a whole slew ofPersona-related news for me to giddily squeal over. I don’t mind that Ijustbought a new copy ofPersona 4, which I’ve yet to play, for $50. Or that I’m 80 hours intoPersona 3and still not finished, despite buying the game several years ago. I’m going to keep buying Atlus products and be happy....

The boys down at Trendy Entertainment just decided to blow our socks off with their new dev diary showcasingDungeon Defenderson the PS3. We already knew that iOS and Android users could network and play with the PS3 version (which is impressive as is,) but it gets way more fantastical when you actually see this game in motion. For those that don’t know,Dungeon Defenderis a crazy action RPG/tower defense hybrid that takes inspiration from games likeDiabloandDefense of the Ancients, and it… it just looks swell....

Those About to Die: Dobkeratops

[It’s time for anotherMonthly Musing— the monthly community blog theme that provides readers with a chance to get their articles and discussions printed on the frontpage. — CTZ] Long ago, in the 80’s, videogames were making the transition, pupae-like, from arcade closets to home computers. It was at the cusp of this computer boom that my Dad very wisely recognized that his erstwhile eight-year-old son needed to be at the forefront of this emerging technology....

To infinity and beyond: Toy Story 3’s story mode

Up to two friends will get to play through the story mode ofToy Story 3on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The story mode will have you go through the high points from the movie and begins like the film with Woody trying to save the orphans on the runaway train. One of the early missions I was shown on the Wii involved Woody, Buzz and Jessie scaling Andy’s room in order to reach a cell phone so the toys can call Andy to come play with them....

Trine 2 appears to be more of a good thing

I fell in love withTrinewhen I saw its first trailer two years ago. Watching this new video promoting its sequel, well, it’s like re-affirming one’s wedding vows. I’m falling in love all over again. It helps that the characters appear to have seen a fair bit of work in the animation department. I will say that this bit of footage does concern me a tiny bit, though. Just seems a touch more linear in its design....

Uncharted getting a movie

I love how Hollywood looks down upon the game industry, yet still won’t stop making game movies that are ten times worse than the source material. You have to love that lack of self-awareness. Anyway, the movie industry’s latest poor victim isUncharted: Drake’s Fortune, which hasbeen confirmedfor the world of motion pictures. Columbia Pictures is working on the film as we speak, which makes sense given the studio’s Sony affiliation. Kyle Ward has been named as the writer, a man with previous game-to-film experience, having written theKane & Lynchmovie adaptation, as well as working onHitman 2for Fox....

Valve: ‘PS3 is incredibly important to us’

At gamescom, Valve project manager Erik Johnson is looking to make nice with PS3 owners after their release of the turd version ofOrange Box, which got the shaft in everything from DLC to framerate. “PS3 is incredibly important to us,” he said. “We don’t feel that the PS3 users had the Valve experience that we like to deliver. “So it that case it’s incredibly important to us; we kind of fix everything wrong in the products that we delivered before for the PS3, which we thought were good but weren’t quite the Valve experience....

Want to work for Ubisoft? You just need to organize a ‘dream team’

I was about to pick up the phone and start calling my old pals Ken Levine, Nobuo Uematsu, Will Wright, and everyone that works at Treasure to see if they were interested in signing up for this, but then I got to thinking about all the talent we have right here at Destructoid. I can see it now:Anthonycan come up with and refine the gameplay mechanics,Dalecan compose the music,JimTophercan make with the pretty visuals, and Chad can be ourridiculously good lookingproducer that convinces people to try our horribly mish mashed product....

The first episode ofHalo Legends,The Babysitter, was released earlier this week on Halo Waypoint. The episode follows a few Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and a SPARTAN II as they go on a mission to assassinate a Prophet. We also get a nice look at some ancient Forerunner buildings showing that the Forerunners may have possibly been as big as Zentradis fromRobotech....

Whine enough, get Bionic Commando on the Wii

Fire up the Internet petition machine, folks. While Capcom’sBionic Commandowill be making the familiar rounds on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, there’s currently no plans for the game coming to the Wii. If you’re one of the many that think the game’s grappling and swinging mechanics would lend itself quite nicely to Nintendo’s console, there’s still hope. Speaking withVideoGamer.com, Capcom’s Ben Judd gets inspirational, and says that anything is possible … if you want it bad enough....
