I haven’t been paying any attention toMonster Hunter Tri. I know that the series is popular in Japan and that there’s a fair bit of anticipation — or at least marketing — for it in North America. And that’s about the extent to which I’ve allowed myself to care. This launch trailer for the title is changing that in a pretty big way. I think there’s a nostalgia factor at work, as it reminds me of trailers for a lot of RPGs around the turn of the century (which is totally as much fun to type as I thought it would be)....

Square Enix has made a piano collections CD for nearly every Final Fantasy game they’ve made. Well, not XII. That soundtrack sucked, and didn’t lend itself to piano treatments. But the other ones are amazing. They take your favorite songs and give them beautiful arrangements by top-notch performers. If you’ve somehow missed these CDs, know that they’re definitely worth tracking down. Final Fantasy XIIIsoundtrack lends itself to the Piano Collections treatment nicely, so I’ve been hoping for one to be announced....
