TheRock Band Unpluggedmusic store on the PlayStation Portable is updating today, bringing the total available tracks for download up to 19. While that pales into comparison to the 700-plus songs available on the consoles, it’s a start.
Like any good dealer, Harmonix and MTV Games are giving you a hit for free today — Jonathan Coulton’s “Still Alive” is available for download, completely for free. After you get a taste of this fancy new download technology, maybe you’ll want more, and will be willing to spend $1.99 a piece on these tracks:
I know a few people have been hesitant to grab the DLC for their portable rocking, and that’s totally understandable, especially if they’ve already blew their cash on those same songs to play on their consoles. But you have to understand that how the songs are tracked are completely different; they can’t just give you two for one, folks.
With that said, maybe if MTV and Harmonix could put up with some bitching and whining, releasing songs new to the series on the PSP first might encourage some people to spend some cash. They could start with all of the tracks from Radiohead’sThe Bends, for instance. Okay, I kind of just want those songs in theRock Bandstore, but you get where I’m going with this.
