In a recentSiliconera interviewwith Xseed’s President Jun Iwasaki and Director of PublishingKen Berry, there’s a tad bit of tit for tat over what would need to happen in order forRetro Game Challenge 2to leave Japan. Ken says the original game needs to sell 20,000 more copies for the sequel to come to the States, where Jun says the game needs to sell 100,000. When you’re throwing out random numbers regarding huge business decisions that have clearly not been given much prior discussion, why not shoot for the moon, right?
On a more serious note, I wantRetro Game Challengeto be localized in a bad way. I loved the original game, and from what I’ve seen, the sequel is even better. If I weren’t knee deep in game reviews, or sober, I might just launch a “BuyRetro Game Challengeand I’ll bake you cookies” contest or other such nonsense.
