We recently told youabout the United States Air Force buying 2,200 PS3 systems to either make some top-secret supercomputer or to have a killer multiplayer gaming session. Before they got the money cleared for the 2,200 systems, they had a smaller rig of 336 systems. And here’s what it looks like.
Crazy.SFgatesays that this rig was used for research on urban surveillance, and is located in Rome, New York. I don’t know what that is, but I’m going to guess that that room is hot. And loud. And that if they are using these for gaming, that firmware update time would be a major bitch.
Imagine what it’ll look like when they get the 2,200 installed.
