It appears we will no longer need to have sleepless nights writing angry things on the Internet over theUnchartedmovie, for now at least, as itsnew writer/director Neil Burgersays he is going back to the game for his script. In fact, he didn’t even read David O. Russell’s version about how Drake and his family will have merry adventures around the world.
AsThe Illusionist‘s writer/director tells Crave Online: “It’s really one of the most cinematic videogames, and one that has really developed characters. So, you know, there’s a lot of cool, really intense things that, if they work for the film’s story, I want to use them.”
Burger also notes howUnchartedis a different beast thanIndiana Jonesbecause it’s more contemporary, and he knows you guys want Nathan Fillion to play Drake. But while he acknowledges Fillion can act, he’ll decide on who is a good fit depending on who will even have the time to sign on by the time he finishes the screenplay.
For the record, you Fillion fanboys are all crazy. Nick Chester would make the best Nathan Drake.
