You might remember us telling you last week that Pentavision’s newest rhythm game,DJMax Technika, was beingTested in SoCal arcades, and it seems that’s only the beginning of the Korean developer’s push to bring this popular franchise to American shores.

After a chat with PM Studios producer, Michael Yum,The Escapistreports that a DS version is already in development, and that an iPhone port is in the pre-production/research phase as we speak. We’re not actually speaking, but play along. One would assume the iPhone’s touch screen would be better suited for the game’s frantic, multi-touch input method and HD graphics, though as Jared notes, both platforms will pose thier respective challenges to Yum’s team.

It might not be right around the corner, but it’s on the way, and that’s good news for Bemani fans, as well as anyone who doesn’t have an arcade in the neighborhood. Personally, I’m pretty excited to hear thatDJMaxis finally ready to take its first (official) stab at the western market. Who’s with me?
