The designer behind the originalFallout, Tim Cain, recentlyspoke with Edgeabout his feelings on the direction Bethesda has takenFallout 3in, as well as his concerns with Interplay’sFallout-themed MMO.

He says, “I do like what I’ve seen aboutFallout 3,” and continues, “it’s not necessarily the direction I would’ve gone, but I can tell you I have myFallout 3pre-ordered. I want my life-sized Pip-Boy. I’m going to be playing that at the end of the month.”

Concerning the MMO, Cain says that “the original games were designed to make you feel like you were one of the last people left on Earth” and how that fact causes him to wonder about “how they’ll handle making the game not feel too crowded.”

Finally, Tim reveals that he’s “looking forward toFallout 3as a consumer, not a developer. I just want to play it and enjoy it,” he explains. Can you blame the man?
